Stoke are considering a £6million move for *Tottenham left-back Danny Rose.
The England Under-21 international spent last season on loan at *Sunderland, where he was one of the clubâs most *consistent performers in a disappointing campaign when they only just *avoided relegation.
He also impressed new Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio, who may also bid for the defender.
But Stoke manager Mark Hughes â who has replaced Tony Pulis at The Britannia â wants to bring in a left back and striker to reinforce the squad he has *inherited .
And he is monitoring the situation of Rose, who has failed to establish himself at White Hart Lane.
However, it appears that Hughes will not need to find a new goalkeeper.
He has talked with Asmir Begovic and the Bosnian has told Hughes he is not looking to leave Stoke.
Begovic was linked with a move to Liverpool, but *Simon Mignolet has now agreed a £9m move to *Anfield from Sunderland.
An extraordinary offer around £15m may change the scenario, but the *indications are that Begovic will stay and that will *enable new signing Jack Butland from Birmingham to learn his trade at a *Premier League club.
