So who is exactly is voting on this poll because their usernames tend to suggest that they are not sunderland supporters.
I take your point OLM but clearly the Allams feel it will help and they must surely have taken some advice from PR people before doing so,anticipating the local backlash....we may all sneer at their seeming cynicism in mooting the name change in the first place and whilst it doesn't make it right I still think there's a commercial logic to it - "The Tigers" will sell far better to the great unwashed in far away fields than "Hull City AFC" ......

Why don't we concentrate on building up our core market to the point where we have 25,000 hard core supporters?
There is an isolated area of Yorkshire with no rivals Premier League clubs in it that's crying out for exploitation of this type.
You have either missed or avoided my point. The name-change is with-in the remit of the owner, although I and just about every reference point I can find (including the new Fulham owner) cannot find any commercial justification for it. So, back to my point, do you believe the underhanded manner that has been used to develop the name-change is acceptable? The club has his money and he has the club, so that entitles him to exercise that power in an arrogant and deceitful manner against the majority of those he constantly claims he wishes to help. I personally believe he has made a PR gaffe of huge proportions and it is folk like yourself who enable him. As a supporter of this football club you should hang your head in shame.
More to the point does he ever post on any other topic, apart from telling everyone ad nauseam how he's not bothered?

Yes, let's have our single season of glory in the Premier League, and then get back to our proper place because we after all we shouldn't have ambitions above our station.

To me the poll makes no sense as we have no option but to accept any daft idea our owner decides to inflict upon us, just as we have to accept **** beer, ridiculous away ticket prices, over policing and all the other **** football fans tolerate nowadays.
Doesn't mean I have to like it and I'll act against all of the above, given the opportunity.

If it's the one I'm thinking of it was a poll asking who would prefer being in League 2 with a proper name and who would prefer being in the PL with a new name. That's a stupid poll, why should people be choosing between the two? This one is better, but for the reasons OLM and Happy Clapper pointed out it still doesn't mean much.

Because the poll is, 'will you, or won't you accept it'.
We have no option but accept it, so it's a moot point.
If you'd done a poll that simply asked 'should we remain Hull City, or are you happy to accept a name change', then I suspect you'd get a more accurate reflection of people's views.
