From the outside looking in, this makes CTWD ... and by extension, Hull itself look a bit naff.

So this Mark Gretton bloke, he's a chairman of a supporters group, supposedly respected, thought to have a decent head on his shoulders, got good judgement, an academic, holds down a job at Hull University .. let's just say "a better option than the rest of CTWD" ..... it all seems a bit toy town if you ask me. Supporters campaign about weightier issues ... Wimbledon got press coverage because their club was going to be moved to a different part of the country. That's fair enough. We all know Portsmouth's problems and I'd City Hull City becoming the next Portsmouth without a munificent benefactor.

CTWD look a bit like kids in a playground saying "Allam started it" and "oh, we're so offended and hurt that the club's name might be altered" whilst they have a right to call the guy who pumped dosh into their club, saved it then took it higher than ever .... whatever they want. Sorry CTWD, it doesn't work like that.

You may say "why should we care what you think?" ... well, supposedly, you're a pressure group and ... you seem clueless ... for a start, get a chairman who doesn't post stuff like this then you MIGHT ... just MIGHT get taken seriously enough to influence public opinion ....

... there is also the pathetic assertion that singing makes you a bigger and better fan of a football club .... and I've read some references on this topic suggesting that all the money fans have put into Hull City is worth more than Allam's millions ... well 1. Without Allam's millions, there would be no club. Would that be a better tribute to all City's fans? 2. I reckon most of the fans, past and present on whose behalf you claim to be bleating and engraving hip flasks didn't sing. Most pensioners at City don't sing, don't sit in the corner of the East Stand and certainly wouldn't approve of the hip-flask or anyone trying to say it was a good idea or a good thing ... the idea it might be an OK idea if it was owned by the leader of a supporters' trust .... come on ... you're showing up the club, the fans and, to be honest, the city you seem to be trying to elevate and draw attention to ... with City of Culture 2017 ahead ... all you need is a few more Mark Grettons and, even if you don't do much comedy during 2017, people will be laughing their heads off at you. Hull's a great place with fabulous people, a great football club run by a guy who doesn't appear to be Robert Maxwell, Ken Bates, Roman Abramovich, The Glazier Family, Stephen Hinchcliffe, David Lloyd, Russell Bartlett etc ..... why isn't that enough for CTWD and no, I refuse to accept that a chairman of such a pressure group is "pro Allam" if he has such a hip flask and I doubt if the supporters' group he leads can be "pro Allam" either.

Cardiff City campaigned against the colour of their shirts, CTWD campaigned to save the name Hull City. Supporters of Everton campaigned against changing the badge. All of these things have something in common. A number of MPs are considering changing the law to make it illegal without the agreement of supporters. They don't think the issue is naff.

I hope you will be lecturing Cardiff City fans and Everton on how naff you think their campaigns were/are.

Assem Allam is owed almost £100 million. We'll know whether he's a hero or villain when that is repaid. The indications are good, but the fat lady hasn't sang yet.

The supporters of Lokeren didn't laugh their heads off, they supported our campaign as did the supporters of a number of other football clubs. Our campaign garnered a lot of respect from all across the football family, both here and abroad. None of that is going to be destroyed by Mark Gretton's hip flask and a few tweets.

All fans need to avoid "the boy who cried wolf" syndrome ... where they always seem to be campaigning against something ... then, when they really have something to campaign about, everyone just says "oh it's CTWD again" .... and switches off ... if CTWD campaign when things are this good .........

No double standards. Both were poor attempts at jokes, although I found Assem Allam's slightly funnier. The pathetic thing is that opponents of CTWD think a poor joke is proof that we hated Assem Allam all along. Apart from a picture of a hip flask and a few tweets about it have you got any other evidence of our supposed hatred?

I've always found the official CTWD campaign to be articulate, well presented and decent. Unfortunatley most of my contact with CTWD has been through these pages.
On the new chairman, he has the right to have whatever personal thoughts be wants on the name change subject. However, publicly displaying thoughts that are the polar opposite of the group he is chairman of will cause people to doubt whether he believes what he is saying as chairman.

Reading this thread, I'm embarrassed for the club.

Not only do we have some of the lowest turnouts in the Premier League, but we must have by far the highest proportion of pathetic, PL-obssessed, do-anything-with-my-club-as-long-as-you-keep-buying-us-players-and-we-get-to-watch-the-superstars-every-week type fans.

You lot dissing CTWD are a ****ing disgrace to English football, never mind this club.

Straight to the point. I like that.

Ooh, you're back. Knocked anyone's teeth out for standing recently?

No it's a wall of noise in South isn't it?

Sorry what else have CTWD campaigned about other than the name change?

What have Cardiff or Everton fans campaigned about other than the aforementioned topics? Sounds like bollocks to me.

The campaign's finished, the FA said no. There's the process of arbitration and then there's the reconciliation afterwards. Assem Allam has told us consistently he has run out of money, there is a gap to be closed. CTWD can help close that gap, it just needs a bit of goodwill on both sides.

So why din't he do that?

It would have made getting into the Premier League more difficult.

He'd have had to pay all the football debts in full and the parachute payments were charged to the bank. He may have lost the training ground, Ideal Standard as well and everything that wasn't nailed down at the KC. Oh and the lease with Hull City Council may have fallen by the wayside and the rent increased for the new club.

PLT often posts his hatred for AA Obi, maybe you should promote him? No? Thought not. Unfortunately he comes across as young and stupid, although that doesn't appear to have stopped Gretton from hitting the highs in the CTWD group. You never know PLT, there may be hope for you yet.

Why is he still pursuing the name change anyway? I thought the massive increase in ticket/season pass prices was the alternative if he couldn't get his way.

More lies again from the bastard. I can't wait until he does one.

There's a s**t load of hypocrisy from CTWD. Maybe not from the polished, well thought-out statements but from every related comments on here and in the stands. That's what is putting people off frankly.
Just accept it and move on I say.

This righteous, "we're never wrong", "we're better fans", "it ain't our fault" propaganda that is regurgitated and force fed on here constantly, is incredibly off-putting.
If your protest has attracted a ton of followers that are far less respectful and subtle towards the Allams than some of the CTWD core, you have to accept this is your responsibility and not shirk the blame.
If a grade A, Allam-hating, c**t has donated to the group and bought your badge and is promoting your group, they are your responsibility. It would be incredibly hypocritical to distance yourself from their views, when you are clearly fine with them having joined your group, possibly donated and increased your numbers.

And this is without even mentioning that you're trying to distance CTWD from the actions of its very own leader.

If this was politics and David Cameron's flask with "f** off Miliband you lispy c**t. " what do you think would happen to him and the tories and do you not think an apology would be issued the following day?

So why didn't someone else.....a more "canny mover" step in?

You see all these people who claim Assem Allam did nothing financially to save the club, never seem to explain why nobody else stepped in at the time Indeed why didn't the existing owners just let it slip into administration and then start again?
