As I've said before, don't be a hypocrite. If Allam had been given the green light by the FA , I'm pretty sure CTWD would have piped up immediately afterwards and not given up on the matter. He's doing no different than what CTWD would have done. And when I am suggesting CTWD should just "accept it and move on", I am only talking about the fact that their group is attracting some negative publicity as well and not everyone will be in agreement with them. And it certainly would not make you a lesser fan for disagreeing with some aspects of the group.
Allam said that if the FA didn't allow the name change, he would go. He also said that increasing prices for tickets and season passes would be an alternative if the name change wasn't authorised. I'm sorry but that's the truth, and it's not hypocritical to point out the flaws in his plan. The man is a liar.
Just so I'm clear... I'm anti-Allam, even though I'm happy for him to remain in charge and I only oppose the name change. I think I'm a better fan, just because I'm involved in CTWD, despite me not criticising other City fans. CTWD are not in charge of what fans chant at Hull City games. We encouraged fans to chant City Till I Die at 19.04, we are no longer doing so, what they do from now on is up to them, we can't dictate.
It was "fan pressure" that got rid of The Needlers and brought us Lloyd, Wilby and Hateley. The "fans" then had to campaign against the regime they welcomed so warmly to be replaced by Hinchcliffe, Belton and Buchanan. We then had the stability of Adam Pearson but, as a businessman, he sold to Bartlett who left the club in the mess from which Dr. Allam rescued it. I see history repeating itself. "Fans" will get rid of Allam and welcome another asset stripper ... who rescues the club next time it faces a winding up order?
