Love it. Well done Robinson
Steve Smith, the annoying little ****, literally celebrated in Brooks' face when he got out through bad luck rather than skill on their part, yet they are all crying their eyes out?

****ing bring it on. Despise them more than the Mags at times

Smith is an unbelievable batter but he is an even bigger (cheating) bellend. I really hope we turn these ****ers over.

Hate the Aussies, but respect them - Ponting, McGrath, Warne, Waugh, Lee - all absolute ****ers when it came to beating England, but respectful of the game and decent blokes.

Smith is just a little bitch

I quite like Ponting as a pundit. Completely different to what he was as a captain. Obvhe knows the game inside out but he was a right twat as a captain but the depth of knowledge is great to hear.

It makes the football pundits look and sound like absolute amateurs.

He was an unbelievable player. One of the best. Hated him when he played against us (obviously) but there was always an element of respect of his brilliance.
As much as I hate the Aussies (might have mentioned that) Shane Warne is my all time favourite player. He was simply a genius.

Again. Smith is just a little pricky bitch with ridiculously good hand-eye coordination

Warne was a freak, unbelievable talent. Can't coach that sort of stuff that he was bowling, just let him crack on. Class commentary as well, taken too soon. Top bloke. <cheers>

Much like Zidane in football......erm yes Zizou there's a footy match tomorrow and I'll see you Saturday..... <cheers>

Is this the thread for just England cricket or is Durham discussed in here as well? I couldnt see a "just Durham" thread?

He gets away with a lot on the grounds he is " Just Smithy".

But down the years, going back to the sixties when I first watched, the Aussies will be very vocal and arsey when they are on top. When they are under the cosh there is nothing from them.

They got a golden chance yesterday and took it. Gloomy conditions and some moisture spicing up a dead pitch. Before the rain you could see the slump in some bodies as the openers looked comfortable.

Big job on today for the batsmen. Need 250 plus to defend I'd say.

What's the thoughts on today with rubbish weather around tomorrow?

Id be happy batting today out getting a lead of 300 plus and seeing what tomorrow brings, not sure Stokes and the rest will see it that way though.

First job is not to get skittled out. Next is to try and post a score 250 plus. Next is to worry about tomorrow's weather!

The first two of those will be hard enough.

Going to be an interesting days play, Root is key for me. If he can stick around we have a fighting chance of seeing today out and posting a challenging score.

Its been an intriguing watch so far, been rain over night and with cloud cover the ball could be hooping around this morning

We have so much batting in the line up. Root and Pope, followed by Brook, Stokes, Bairstow and Moeen. That surely is enough to post 300 today and see what happens.
I know it's always a case of "rather lose, trying to win" but not losing the 1st Ashes test can be as crucial as winning it

Good looking TV series about to start over here called Warnie. Not sure if it'll be shown overseas.

Had his demons but was the typical Aussie larrikin that most loved

I agree that its crucial we don't lose this one, but Im not sure Stokes and the coaches think like that. I love the positive mind set, the random field positions, the will to win but a little bit of balance is also required imo.

Doesn't help that Ali's finger looked knackered yesterday and i doubt it will have healed enough (if at all) for him to bowl
