If I could be bothered .......
I would put in a request ( Freedom of Information ) to see how many ( if any), penalty notices( I don't mean parking tickets ), were issued by Police over the weekend in London and Manchester......I would be surprised if it was as many as one ( in all sectors )

It almost makes me want to break the rules - just to deliberately get a ticket (( if I could find a police officer in my town )). I would contest the penalty - on the grounds of discrimination, and dereliction of duty - why not give tickets when there are ''easy pickings'' (( it doesn't stop the wardens in Gillingham on matchday .))................ I know that I wouldn't win my appeal - but - as we all know - the Law is an ar$e.

Tim - thanks for the 'link,' ---- an interesting read -- makes you want to turn vegan -- BUT -- that won't stop anyone 'catching' the virus from other people.

It would ''appear'' that social-distancing has been the major defence to the spread of infection --- and, as we relax these measures, it isn't a surprise that various parts of the World are seeing new cases ( where there has been an absence in recent days / weeks ), or a spike in the number of people infected . All the time the R number is anywhere near 1 , the virus is not going away - anytime soon ...............
....... can I suggest that Mr. Scally gets some masks and rubber gloves with the logo of The Gills - a great 'stocking filler for Christmas - if we survive for the next 6 months ! )

The dispersal order relates to groups who are drunk and anti-social . I don't see anything relating to ''social distancing.'' Will that mean that Police won't have the power to move people - unless they're being a yob ? ---- and, as somebody else has pointed out - where will the thousands of people go ? It won't be home ! - it will be back into the pub - to top up their yobbishness instead of their tan!

Dispersal orders are not the answer to eliminating the spread of infection. If they are only to be used in situations with associated antisocial behaviour - how will that prevent the spread of infection if the same thousands of people sat still on the beach --- as close as shown in the photos we see ?

People need to start to use commonsense when it comes to 'reasonable' social distancing - that way the infection rate might not spike. I was going to add that - if people choose to ignore the advice - and go to the crowded beach - at least it will be only they who run the risk of infection --- but -- that's not true - because when these people get moved on - they will converge, en mass, on the rest of us..................

...............who would want to be on any of Kent's filthy beaches - in a scene resembling a ' Where's Wally ' picture ?

....And before you think that I am totally antisocial - I am off to a pub tonight - to its' restaurant area for a meal with several members of family. We will keep one metre apart - and still have fun.

I don't really understand the dispersal orders, are we saying that under normal circumstances police would just stand and watch trouble makers without taking action. And anyway we have got laws that allow restraint of people who are considered mentally ill, someone who might do harm to themselves or others, can be detained for mental evaluation.

I am staggered that it is only NOW - after over 45,000 people have died - in this country alone, do the Government think that it might be a good idea to make mask wearing mandatory................... mind you - they've been quite safe throughout the pandemic- they've had their heads buried in the sand.

Will Boris now apologise for being racist ?
I am far from being anti Tory - but - I am staggered at how the Government have procrastinated during the pandemic . So much time and lives have been wasted - whilst Boris dithers.
We now hear that face coverings may be mandatory in shops from 24th July ( I think they mean this year ! ) -This should have happened in March !

So - why is it now ( from 24th July), not safe to go shopping without a mask - when the infection rate is low -- yet 4 months ago - when nearly 1000 people a day were dying, we didn't need face coverings. And - why is it safe to go to be in a pub without wearing a mask ? I'm fairly sure the risks I face in a pub are greater than in a shop (( and that's just from eating urine infected bar snacks ! ))

Will Boris say sorry ? He has used his column in The Telegraph to say that people who wear the Niqab is like looking at letter boxes and bandits.. Michael Gove is no better - saying that he can't talk seriously with anyone wearing a Niqab ---- what is wrong with these buffoons -- How incredibly insensitive can they get ? The Niqab is not an object to be ridiculed - it has deep cultural / religious connections - and your mockery of it only exposes your underlying racism.............................

....... ps - don't bother to take a knee - that will only expose your hypocrisy -- a racist can almost be forgiven because of their ignorance -- a hypocrite knows full well what they're doing is wrong.
 
The government have followed the advice of SAGE from the start of the pandemic, even the WHO were saying the wearing of masks was unnecessary. Luckily I have my own brain and have been wearing a mask from day 1, even now there are as many people complaining that they don't want to wear a mask, as are complaining it should have happened earlier.
As for getting into racism arguments about the male inflicted domination of women in certain groups, I'll just pass on that one.

So - it's official - wearing face masks in shops in England is to become mandatory from 24th July...........................BUT
................... retail staff are exempt !!!!!! WHY ????? are they immune from contracting or passing on the infection ( considering the number of potential carriers - including asymptomatic carriers ) with whom they come into contact.......

....... I reckon that if you asked Boris to organise a stag night, the first thing he'd do is to go and buy a load of drinking straws !

Since the restart of matches, the players could have worn face coverings during the game (( on the pretext of preventing the spread and capture of Coronavirus. )) -- Then, when they disagreed with a refereeing decision, they could tell the referee ''his fortune'' - and the chap with the whistle wouldn't be able to be certain who told him to ''Go away.''

...... on a more serious note -- how difficult must it be for people who rely on lip reading to ''hear'' what another person says ? -- see - not so silly after all.
 
Penny sweets now to cost £100 !

From tomorrow, it will be mandatory to wear face coverings in shops. Everyone 11 years and older will be subject the rule ((( with some exemptions ))). If you break the rule, you can be fined £100......... really ? -- 11 year old children ( not wearing a face covering ), to be fined ?? What happens when they can't pay - are they going to be put in prison ??

I actually hope that people ( including children ), will use commonsense - and abide by the rules --- I really don't want to see the Police being inundated by shopkeepers ringing 999 because a kiddy hasn't got their face covered. The Police have enough on their plate....... please ( everyone ) keep safe - and help others to be safe.

The rise in the infection rate is not good news. I appreciate that much could be down to increased testing - but - I will draw two conclusions from that;
1. Was the infection rate much higher than we knew ( due to lack of testing ), at the beginning of the pandemic ?
2. The new numbers also coincide with the incubation period following the easing of lockdown a few weeks ago - which was followed by some hugely irresponsible behaviour ( Bournemouth beach - and the beaches in Kent, and Manchester BLM rallies etc )

Football fans ( or is it just me ), maybe hoping for some Government approval for some fans to be allowed back in grounds, by early next month --- but -- if the figures show the same level of increase in the next couple of weeks, (( not forgetting the local lockdowns in Leicester, Greater Manchester - and now Leeds looks vulnerable )), then don't be surprised if the Government don't end up in a panic, and delay a decision to allow fans inside Priestfield.
 
The death rate is less than flu. There will always be people dying of illness or dieseses. At the moment this is very low. The beaches were full beginning of August, so still very low

Although I didn't mention the fact that you quote, I was aware ........... so - why do we have the restrictions for Coronavirus and not the flu ? - it cannot be because of the death rate - that now ( mercifully ), is less than flu ! ---- open up our grounds - or let's play football on the beach.
