If you don't wear a mask when you go out you may spread Covid to someone old and/or vulnerable, and kill them. All who do this are selfish MFs imo. And you put yourselves at risk too of course, which further perpetuates the spread of the virus. The wearing of virus protective face masks properly reduces the spread of the Virus both to others and yourself and this has been tested and verified countless times, but too many people and leaders who should know better choose to ignore it. Take a look at the Brazilian President, Trump, Boris Liar for example. I'm a MF too but yes for sure I'll keep wearing masks as long as this Virus is killing thousands, it is absolutely no problem, no more uncomfortable for most people than wearing a watch.

Yes, proper surgical, virus protection face masks have proven to protect against such things. I would imagine that's why surgeons wear them. But the hastily stitched together pieces of dirty gusset with the virtue-signalling Ukrainian flags on them do very little. If it were otherwise, we'd see the results over the past few years and they're just not there. Further, the virus is now no worse than a bad year of seasonal influenza, so I make no apology to you for choosing not to join your club. You'll never admit it, but the problem with your ilk is that you always think you know best. You always think you're the ones that care the most, so grow to despise those that don't conform to your ideals. A few months ago we had Cologne Hornet - a self-confessed smoker - say he'd personally punch anybody full in the face if they weren't wearing a face mask around his kith and kin, because they were endangering his family and tantamount to murderers. People like me are apparently heartless motherfuckers responsible for the deaths of thousands. You can swan around with your faux virtue for evermore if it makes you feel superior. It's still a free world at the moment.
If the vulnerable/worried wear an FFP2 standard mask themselves they get an alleged 94% protection and the rest of us can do what we like without being lectured. If the ordinary surgical and cloth masks offered serious protection the virus wouldn’t have spread when they were compulsory.
You can buy them at Boots. They are uncomfortable to wear because they are very tight fitting, which is of course the point of a mask.
According to Sajid Javid 60% of the people in hospital with COVID are actually there for something else and just happen to have tested positive for COVID. Which is good news, I think.

I was talking about the 3 or 4 layer disposable masks that properly cover your nose and mouth and fit well, not too tight and not too loose, not full surgical gear or gussets either! Personally in addition I wear a visor inside public buildings which helps protect the eyes. I take especial care because I am in the at risk category. Also I know all too many family and friends who have got Covid and got very sick, and others who have got very ill from bad vaccines.
In fact tests have shown that even wearing a thin cotton mask, like your flag, help prevent spreading the virus onto others, though give little protection to yourself.
Wasn't there a recent report in the Lancet I think, stating that the real number of deaths is much lower than those published, due to different causes of death?
Didn’t see that Col. I think it’s a complicated area - people can die of pre existing heart disease which has been exacerbated by COVID - the cause of death is still heart disease but the time of death might have been brought forward by COVID. I don’t think it can be denied that, pre vaccines, our health services were in real trouble because of the virus.
The thing which seems clear, to me at least, is that vaccines really have made the difference. I can’t find any data but I’d love to see the comparison of current deaths per 100,000 from COVID ie with a vaccinated population, v normal deaths per 100,000 from flu. I’m guessing, with no evidence whatsoever, that there won’t be much difference at the moment.

What amazes me is the lack of problems people have with wearing these sort of masks I describe here in S,E.Asia where they were frequently worn with earlier virus spreads, to the big deal people in many other more prosperous parts of the world seem to have with wearing them. Protecting yours and others health becomes denial of your freedom to wear what you want, which seems rather pathetic that a bit of cloth can be so considered. Cultural difference roots I guess.

Possibly despite people with your authoritarian political views we still have a reasonably free society most of the time such that you and your loved ones are quite at liberty to walk about in full hazmat for the rest of your lives if you so choose. Having had covid recently, I have no desire to get it again if at all possible.

1) I don't want anybody to bow to my will. I want people to do take that small sensible action in a Pandemic.
2) Thought you referred to denial of your Freedoms. If you didn't ( I cant be arsed to look back) Sorry. But many who complain about wearing a mask do.
3) Most normally I dont have authoritarian political views. But on this I agree with laws saying people must wear them when they leave their home, other than when eating, drinking or exercising, because it is a small thing to do that saves many lives. From numbers I see from many Countries numbers of Deaths from Covid are still high, and increasing some places. Covid hasn't gone yet.

Had my booster jab on saturday at a walk in clinic for no other reason than going to Lanzarote in 2 weeks then to Barcelona. Arm is aching like a ****, had a raging temp and had to have the day off work today. Best be ****in worth it

Re your 2 I take it you mean wearing a mask is a restriction and the basis for wearing one is sketchy. As said there has been countless tests that show 3/4 layer disposable medical/ surgical masks both help prevent catching and giving Covid. Even a rag helps prevent giving it. Not sketchy at all.
Evidence that mask wearing protects you in the real world is more difficult because of other factors involved like population density and climate, but looking at registered infections per 100K inhabitants in Countries where I think, and know in Thailand, that people mostly wear masks when they leave home the numbers are at the low end. Other than Thailand that includes China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Phillipines and even war torn Myamar.
