Best wishes to everyone and their loved ones..... my mother had a dose of covid in January last year ironically a week after getting her first jab.... she got over it, has had both subsequent jabs and hit the ripe old age of 100 last November.... she's still in great form and living life as good as her health allows...... the care home did a magnificent job in keeping everyone safe and continue to do so....

Covid in Scotland: Mask rules will stay in force until April

Scotland's rules on face coverings in shops and on public transport will remain in place until April due to a rise in cases of Covid-19.

All other restrictions on businesses and services are to move from legal requirement to guidance from 21 March.

But First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said it would be "prudent" to keep mask rules in place due to a spike in cases.

These will be reviewed again in two weeks, and are likely to be converted to guidance by 4 April.

Ms Sturgeon said a sharp rise in infections was putting "significant pressure on hospital capacity", but that vaccines were still giving people good protection.

She also told MSPs that mass testing will be wound down in April, with routine testing and contact tracing to end by May.

Stay safe Steely and all Scottish R's.

It's a small reminder that it is still with us despite all the Government relaxations, just hope it doesn't resurge or mutate.

I know what you mean, whenever I see her picture, I'm reminded of Lou Ferrigno as the Incredible Hulk.

Yep. Seems as though those remaining who haven't had it are getting infected.

Hopefully, soon, the virus will become more low key and ineffective.

Best wishes to all , Beth.

Here in Australia, we are entering election faze, so even while 30,000 new cases in NSW and 6,000 new cases here in Queensland, the PM is staying quiet on the increase. Things will no doubt turn pear shape as the future races towards us.

IMO, Governments around the world are continually going get back to normal far, far too soon for the sake of the economy. If they vaccinated the people with decent vaccine, Moderna and Pfizer, and not ineffective **** that also makes people as sick or worse as they would with Covid like Sinovac, plus enforce every MF to wear a mask as soon as they leave their home it might just work. But they don't. They prefer to make stupid big boy gestures taking off their mask, dropping it in the bin , and saying nobody needs to wear these anymore. But they most definitely do.

Well, my Mum is recovering well, but had it quite bad, very painful sore throat and very tired, bit of a cough, but now raring to go again.

Just picked up wife and daughter from airport after a week in France skiing. The wife went with a cough, which she still has now a little, and a bit of a sore throat, but decent energy levels and has been skiing all week no problems and enjoying the wine and food. Decided to give herself a test on return……positive. Caught it on a night out with colleagues in Kensington ten days ago.

She is actually quite pleased to have had it, having been rather worried by the whole thing since day one. For her no worse than a cold. I assume despite the positive test that she’s no longer infectious.

    Good news mate.
Your mum's symptoms sound very similar to what I had.

Pleased your Mum's getting better. I've had a bastard of a cold for 5 days. Could be Covid I suppose, but it doesn't really make much difference now. I haven't been anywhere cos I've been too ****ed.

I’m proud to be classed as a MF by you, Ossie. You keep on wearing your mask for all of eternity if you believe it makes any difference. Good luck to you.

    Cheers lads.

I think we are now at the stage where we just have to get on with it. Just had a family debate about whether my wife should isolate, consensus - no point, it’s too late and we don’t get the impression that we are meant too. If, like Strolls and my mum, you feel **** you won’t be going out anyway. If there are no general attempts to control spread we can only assume that it’s not seen as dangerous enough to warrant it. Another wave going on but if Denmark is anything to go by it will be over quickly, which is good because hospitalisations are creeping up again.

The deaths figures from Hong Kong are a ringing endorsement of vaccination.
