It wasn't too unpleasant at all really, and I decided to go without any sedation so that I could get away as soon as possible. The procedure was much longer than anticipated though, because they found a load of polyps to remove - nine of the buggers. They told me it would probably take 20-25 minutes, but it was nearly an hour. It wasn't the colonoscopy that I was concerned about anyway, rather what they might find. Every time the doctor took out a polyp, he would say 'Adenoma, high confidence' and I was thinking 'Adenoma sounds like cancer', but it turns out that these are normally benign polyps. They've sent them all for testing though, and I get the results next Tuesday. Still a bit scary.

I have to say that the whole process, from getting the screening test to this stage, has been handled brilliantly by all concerned. First class.

Wishing you all the best Stroller

That sounds hopeful Stroller, fingers crossed for an all clear.
You are one brave man to do it without sedation though.. hats off to you

I really didn't find it particularly painful Beth, just a little uncomfortable. They offered me gas and air, so I had a couple of tokes on that before they got going, but that was it. When I was getting changed beforehand, the chap handed me a gown and then said 'here are your dignity shorts'. These were like a regular pair of boxers that you put on back to front so that the opening is at the back. I thought to myself 'there's nothing dignified about this mate'.

Good luck mate, not that you’ll need it.

Reactions: Stroller
Garden centres staying open apparently as I know some people were upset they weren’t last time. Bizarre decision to close gyms and keep these open if you ask me but you didn’t.

And of course best of luck to Stroller and Peter.

Cant understand golf courses being closed either, clubs back in the garage for a month

Great news Stroller. Hopefully final testing hurdle will enable you to put it all behind you.

Good news, sounds promising, I'm sure you'll be OK...

is this true diddles

Dear Editor

From Australia, I'm watching the fast-tracked development of coronavirus vaccines with mounting concern.

Under the Australian Biosecurity Act 2015, refusers of coronavirus vaccination[1] in Australia could be at risk of five years imprisonment and/or a $66,600 fine.[2] [3]

This emergency power has been active since March 2020, and has been extended to December 2020 [4], with the potential for unlimited extensions.[5]

It's possible this emergency power could be extended until a coronavirus vaccine is available, and that people in Australia could be under duress to have coronavirus vaccination, i.e. at risk of imprisonment and/or a huge fine, for a virus which is not a threat to most people under 70.[6]

A worrying indictment on the stupidity of some sections of society.

There are more cases in the Greater Glasgow area than the rest of Scotland combined. Over the last two weeks positive Covid tests have rocketed in this ares, and the majority of these cases have links to Blackpool.

Now, without with pointing fingers it doesn't take Einstein to figure out that this coincides with the Old Firm being played behind closed doors and pubs being shut in Scotland. Express requests by the government and Blackpool council didn't stop thousands of Rangers and Celtic fans descend on Blackpool to watch the game in pubs - all socially distanced of course.

What chance do we have of stopping this spread? Morons
