Just because he was the leagues highest goal scorer doesn't mean he was better. He out scored the likes of Torres and Drogba too. But would honestly say that you'd rather him Berbatov over either of them? No you wouldn't.
Yeah, he's that **** he's one of Spains starting strikers (when fit) and cost £50 million. Drogba is 33/34 but age doesn't matter so long as you keep yourself fit, which he certainly has done. Your opinion is quite frankly a load of bollocks. Nobody would start Berbatov ahead of Torres, Drogba, Rooney, Hernandez, Van Persie or even the likes of Darren Bent because he's not really as good as any of these players.
I'm not going to deny you have bought some real quality at this level but going after Hargreaves and Johnson is questionable to say the least. How much did you pay for Mills by the way ? Football in this country is littered with examples of clubs over doing it, the owners getting fed up and doing a bunk or running out of money. I forgot the powerhouse known as Leicester City are above all that .
Berbatov is at the same level as those players. He was the leagues top scorer last season yet his game is more than just goal scoring, he brings others into play and creates chances for others much like Rooney which is why it's normally one or the other starting for United. I am a bit biased though because I'm a massive Berbatov fan, some of the things he does are unreal but I think you're argument is being driven by the fact you're having it with a Leicester fan and are determined to prove him wrong.
No he isn't. He's a peg or two down from them. He may offer more than goals but so do Drogba, Rooney and Van Persie. The difference is they score and contribute a lot more. Yes he was good in front of goal this season but if anybody on here was playing for Man U, they'd score a few too. They create that many chances you're bound to score eventually. Rooney and Berbatov usually start for Man U. At least they did until Hernandez started to bang them in. Then Berbatov got dropped.
I challenged him to put up 'Berbatov is better than Rooney' thread on the Man United board and see what response he got, he obviously won't, as he already knows what response he'll get, I suspect you do too. No-one is suggesting that Berbatov's not a top player, merely that Rooney is a better player and though he did get more goals than Rooney last season, it's the first time in three seasons he's done so and Rooney got three times as many assists last season, so Berbatov probably has him to thank for many of his goals anyway.
Why are the signings of Hargreaves and Johnson 'questionable'? Johnson has been playing regular football for Man City reserves since December so he is fit and Hargreaves has been trying to prove his fitness of Youtube :S
**** me do you know what an opinion is? I said that I thought that LAST SEASON I felt Berbatov was a better player. I'm not saying that Roonesy is **** am I? I'm just saying that he had huge periods where he was out of form where, frankly, I would have picked Owen in front of him because he couldn't hit a barn door from two yards. So pipe down, stop being an argumentative arsehole and live with the knowledge that not everyone agrees with you mate Can you do that?
I know exactly what you said, I asked you to go find me one Man United fan who agreed with you, I'm still waiting. I may be of the opinion that my mother is a better centre back than Sean St Ledger and I'm entitled to that opinion, but it doesn't stop it being bollocks.
I did admit to being a bit biased, I love Berba and his lazy style. Personally I'd rather him than Van Persie in my team, Hernandez had 1 good season so not much to base an opinion on and Drogba is a battering ram so is a completely different type of striker to Berba. To suggest Bent instead of Berba is an insult to the man!
AKCJ, to be fair I kind of agree with you. Whilst I don't think that Berbatov is a better player than Rooney, I do think that he had a better season. There is a difference. Interestingly, I read somewhere this week that Berbatov responded to criticisms of his languid style saying that there is a saying in Bulgaria (something along the lines of) that to be a genius at something doesn't take any effort. So he's not lazy after all
Not the skills no. But having the required skills is a bit pointless if you rarely use them, as in the case of Berbatov.
