I forgot this ^^^ from my last post. May 1987, we drew 2-2 at Blundell Park and it sent them down. Was a chilly trip home in a Connor & Graham / Simon Gray charabanc with no ****ing windows.
No CM… defo a game against West Ham, though maybe not Clybe Best… it may have been the run up to the Stoke 6th round… memory fails..
Worked there from 95-98, terrible times for a City supporter but great times for Town fans. I remember seething when colleagues took the piss as we spiralled ever further into despair, but reminded them calmly that form is temporary, class is permanent.
Their flaskers outside Wembley giving it the big one about being back where they belong. Yeah, on the bottom rung of professional football in this country.

I went to the GY v City Humber derby in 1966, one of my first away games as a lad and it was a proper derby game then. Packed ground, and I mean packed, loads of City fans there and the fixture was always GY's best home attendance. We lost 1-0, Matt Tees. Memorable to me. The Green Sports Mail always used to big it up too. Huge banner headlines across the front page and a couple of action shots.
Yes welcome back GY....lost 3-1 at home to the Blunts who took 2,000 'boisterous' fans to the pre-season friendly today. 'Risk supporters' still at it even now, Cleethorpes getting a long overdue makeover.
BBC Radio Humberside @RadioHumberside A Humberside Police officer was hurt during clashes between rival fans in Grimsby Town's home friendly against Sheffield United yesterday.
