Ive just copied and pasted it.....

Thanks for taking the time to email me. As I’m sure you can appreciate, the club are keen to encourage advanced ticket sales, whether that be fans buying online or by calling the commercial office as this reduces queuing on a matchday. We did operate a cash turnstile in the Terrace on a trial basis two seasons ago but this received only a small number of users.

In order to make progress as a club, we feel that it is important to capture fans’ data in order to communicate with them more effectively regarding matchday activities. This is why we ask supporters to purchase tickets from the Information Centre on matchday.

The club have run a number of special incentives in recent months (guest tickets, community tickets for Stockport game in April and new memberships which offer fans great rates on tickets against matchday prices). With regards to your comments about season tickets, drastically reducing costs is a gamble and we know we have taken more revenue from our season tickets than Hartlepool. As for Tuesday’s crowd of 771, that was a one-off and the club were expecting a lower crowd than normal due to the game clashing with an England international and the return to school for many local children the following morning.

In response to your final query, the club pride themselves on their matchday experience for families and we won the award for the work carried out by our stewards on a matchday, the matchday activities available for children via our Community Trust and the non-matchday work carried within the local area. Like you say, prices are in line with other clubs but we do offer junior tickets for as little as £5 on matchday which will feel are very good value.

Please let me know if you have any other queries – I’m always happy to help.

Kind Regards,

Ben

So there you go, they pride themselves on being a family club, attendances are only down because of the England game (England play every Sat then do they) and the club need to keep people queing at ticket booths in order to get their details. Ah thats all ok then! <steam>
reading that i think the club need to advertise a job in the bucks free press ...........fans liason officer urgently required, any one of us on here could apply,we all know what needs to be done <doh>

You are right jose, I dont mind the club trying to get as many advance ticket sales as possible. The only problem with that is that many casual fans may not fancy going until the day of the game and they are simply being treated badly as well as being stung in their wallet. Also, im stunned that the only response to concerns around tumbling attendances was the JPT game the other night. Our attendances have been awful all season. Something is going seriously wrong somewhere - England dont play every day and its not as if they are the most popular team at the moment! No doubt we shall have a half decent support today as its a local one but im dreading seeing the turnout for home games against Exeter, Hartlepool, Tranmere etc. I honestly dont know what im more worried about - the fact our attendances are not far off what we got in the Conference or that the club dont/wont acknowledge that attendances are a concern. Shocking.

Well - I have finally got a response -

I have recently been forwarded an email regarding your concerns over attendances at Adams Park for the first few home matches of the season. The club are always interested in the views of supporters and would welcome any idea’s to boost attendances throughout the remainder of the season in the current climate.

I have indicated below the average attendances for all clubs in League 1 for your information, so you are able to make more informed suggestions rather than thinking your club is the only club attendances that are lower than last season. I trust you acknowledge in the current climate supporters disposable income is key to everybody’s standard of living and this is borne out in all leagues and with all attendances.

I would welcome any suggestions which I will ensure you will be considered if they do not conflict with either the season ticket or membership packages the Club have already implemented.

I look forward to receiving your suggestions?

Regards

the trouble is, if the matchday prices are decreased then that means people may be paying more for thier memberships than just buying tickets, which would conflict the memberships. JS, i agree, i think the club is fed up of people talking about the tickets, which is why the response could be considered rude. in terms of the attendences, we should certainly be aiming to get more than walsall, exeter, carslile, hartlepool and bournemouth at least.

Yes I think its a pretty rude response too. I understand that they cant make tickets cheaper now that members already have season tickets but wheres the incentives??? How about for EVERY game, any season ticket holder can bring a mate for a fiver? Anything like that would be a welcome initiative.

As for saying that people have less disposable income to spend on going to the football, it is true. However, if you look at some of the clubs on that list, they are from parts of the country that are considered to be experiencing severe deprivation yet are still getting good crowds.

I think its a mark of a good football club (Bradford, Hartlepool etc) who are still getting the good gates DESPITE the economic downturn and not using it as a pathetic excuse.

Karen Murphy can kiss my arse.

I think the responses are clear - no change to current ticket prices and structures is how they're going to play it.
surely the club can benefit from suggestions on here and the gas room and implement them next season.also the idea of getting season ticket holders cheap tickets for friends is not gonna cost them revenue is it .it would benefit the club in the long run with bigger crowds and more revenue from food and beverage sales in the ground.

I don't think the response is rude. Maybe a little tactless, but to the point. Basically they have implemented season ticket and membership packages and I can understand why they would not want to consider any changes to those; at least this year. Maybe she could have added "this year". It would have also helped if the table had backed up the statement that gates are down generally from last year (ie shown last year's gates and the % decrease).

The plus point was that someone took the trouble to reply and welcomed suggestions that didn't conflict with the "unchangeables". So suggestions like season ticket holders can bring a guest for free, or a family for fiver are presumably not out of bounds.

We have the boundaries within which we can make some suggestions; let's make the most of the offer.

I think it is important that we accept they may not be able to change some things (probably costly and impractical) and that we maintain an amicable relationship with WWFC in order to be heard.

Cheers
Ron

My understanding is that Steve Hayes is looking to sell both WWFC and Wasps. I understand that he has been trying to find a buyer for WWFC since before the end of last season. This year he has also taken a more hands off approach to the ownership of the club.
reading on the gas room today whether its true or not steve hayes wants to go to a higher authority than wycombe district council to pursue the new stadium ,why would he do that if he wanted to sell ,it doesnt make sense to me.

i agree we should have an amicable relationship with our club and at least we have a response from our emails which is something in my mind that we can build on in the future.

Sorry, I dont agree that WWFC should be applauded for simply replying to fans. Considering the club is regarded as a 'family club' a snotty email reply to a fan's concern is not what I call effective PR. For too long now, clubs and their corporate tag lines have been allowed to run roughshod over the important issues and fan's opinions. I couldnt care less about keeping amicable relations with Karen Murphy or any other corporate weed whose fan's hard cash is spent on. Its our club that pays them not the other way round. Nearly all the replies we have recieved show a lack of respect for the fans and, until that changes, they dont deserve respect.

WWFC like so many others has COMPLETELY lost touch with its fans and reality and the sooner some start taking a more direct, tough stance on these issues the better.

OK DB. Well if that's your view, whatever chance there was of any communication has probably been sunk if they read this. Sometimes relationships might get off on the wrong foot. There are 2 options. Either try to build the relationship, in which case it's quite likely it will become stronger, or kill it dead.

I thought it was worth a try.

Fair play Ron, I understand your point of view, even if I dont agree with it. Im just sick and tired of the same old excuses time and time again. Sadly, the amicable, gentle nudge, voicing our concerns style just does not work. I would be dead impressed if WWFC administrators were reading this but I dont believe for a second that they do. I have to ask, do you seriously think we could have built a relationship with these clowns on here??! From the replies to concerns from 606ers I dont think we'd have got anything more than we got already - lipservice and semi-automated responses.

We all agree that football is about money and business more than the actual game now etc but acceptance of that is nearly as bad promoting it. I normally go for your diplomatic approach mate but no can do this time - not when our club seems to be being slowly run in to the ground.
