just had a look on there ron,after sifting through the crap on there basically they are discussing the same things as us ,and the one similarity on there on the low crowds seems to be the price of tickets in a recession
I emailed them on the email address listed in Ron's email. I drew attention to the difficulties in delays in getting in to the ground, as well as ticket pricing and concern around attendances. What I got back was some rubbish excuse that the club want to get everyones personal details at the ticket office, justification that 'everyone elses ticket prices are the same', a bullsh*t excuse that tickets are value for money and finally, on the subject of low attendances, a justification for the JPT numbers - nothing about attendances generally. Not even an acknowledgement that it must have been frustrating spending an hour queing for tickets. Sorry to say chaps, but this idea of being able to email your thoughts to the club is just a load of PR, lip service crap. They are treating us like mugs - They really dont appear to care about the fans and im sorry to say, if this kind of attitude dosent change I fear for the future of our club. Dont mean to sound dramatic but this ticketing fiasco is extremely worrying

As Iâm sure you can appreciate, the club are keen to encourage advanced ticket sales, whether that be fans buying online or by calling the commercial office as this reduces queuing on a matchday. We did operate a cash turnstile in the Terrace on a trial basis two seasons ago but this received only a small number of users.
In order to make progress as a club, we feel that it is important to capture fansâ data in order to communicate with them more effectively regarding matchday activities. This is why we ask supporters to purchase tickets from the Information Centre on matchday.
The club have run a number of special incentives in recent months (guest tickets, community tickets for Stockport game in April and new memberships which offer fans great rates on tickets against matchday prices). With regards to your comments about season tickets, drastically reducing costs is a gamble and we know we have taken more revenue from our season tickets than Hartlepool. As for Tuesdayâs crowd of 771, that was a one-off and the club were expecting a lower crowd than normal due to the game clashing with an England international and the return to school for many local children the following morning.
In response to your final query, the club pride themselves on their matchday experience for families and we won the award for the work carried out by our stewards on a matchday, the matchday activities available for children via our Community Trust and the non-matchday work carried within the local area. Like you say, prices are in line with other clubs but we do offer junior tickets for as little as £5 on matchday which will feel are very good value.

So there you go, they pride themselves on being a family club, attendances are only down because of the England game (England play every Sat then do they) and the club need to keep people queing at ticket booths in order to get their details. Ah thats all ok then!

thanks for posting that devon: interesting to read. the club metioned what i strongly suspect about them trying to encourage tickets in advance, which i think is fair enough. however, the cash turnstiles should still be avaliable as it cant take much more effort, surely? the jpt low attendence begs the obvious question; why scedule the game on the same night as an england match? why not wednesday, or indeed next week? it seems obvious to me, but who knows
