Really hope we can pull this off:-

Clasie is considered one of the best talents in the Eredivisie, but it appears as if his future lies away from the Netherlands following transfer interest from the Premier League.

Southampton have long been linked with a move for the 23-year-old midfielder, as per the Star, and now Sunderland look to have shown an interest in him, according to SoccerNews.

Having recently appointed Dutch manager Dick Advocaat on a full-time basis, he has been promised a large transfer budget to improve his playing squad, and according to the report Clasie could be a target to improve his midfield, and show off his ambition.

Clasie is ken on securing a move away from Feyenoord this summer, opening the door for a potential transfer. A full Dutch international, he is sure to choose a transfer that guarantees him consistent playing time at a good level, and the Saints have the advantage in being able to offer him Europa League football next term.

The young midfielder has made 155 appearances for Feyenoord, scoring eight goals and registering 24 assists. A playmaker who is able to play anywhere through the centre of the midfield, he was a surprise inclusion in Louis van Gaal’s Netherlands squad for the 2014 World Cup, taking his total number of appearances for his country up to 11.

Reactions: Smug in Boots
Looks like he's just got out of detention he's that young. Still would like a physically imposing midfielder with him alongside.

seen him a few times, good player, would like him at Sunderland very much, bit like don Hutch

He would fail miserably in English football.

He'd be bullied in the under 17's lol

Never seen owt of him TBH. Size doesn't bother me though. If he's good, get him!

It's not so much size, it's the ability to keep the ball under another kind of pressure at a different kind of tempo. Cabella and Anita would be able to tell you all about it.
