City Ulltras

Given the nature of season tickets, I guess a way to get it started quickly is to make part of the North stand unreserved seating (or remove some seats) and designate it an area for the songmeisters. Those with season tickets can swap their tickets for ones in this area, perhaps at a discount to encourage those to relocate there?

The problem people may have to weigh up though is also their view of the game over the desire to sing. I am not sure I would fancy watching the full 90 minutes signing my heart out stirring at the back of the goal net.

Democracy is formed by the majority speaking in unison.
If 50 people won't stand and sing because they might offend 3 people then the whole ideology will never happen.
Do you think the numerous other groups in history who have wanted to achieve something for the greater good have cared whether they upset someone?
In short the answer is a resounding "NO".
Unreseved seating will give the people who want to sing the opportunity to do so, but in the time until this happens, those that want to sing, should be allowed to do so!
Those that complain can always move seats!!

^^This^^.

Doing nothing is not an option, not unless people want things to stay as crap as they are.

Ultras banner has vanished for some reason, I'm in E3 Row H . I noticed a lot of old gits are in that area, then realised I'm one myself. Often the ones trying to get singing started are over 40 . Come on u young uns get singing your heads off, I would move into the north stand IF the rest of the noise makers did the same . Took my neices once and went in south stand. Hated it in there. Also went in west stand upper with a female friend once it's even worse up in the clouds. Sure hope E 1, 2 and 3 move to the north stand along with all those who like to sing and jump about. Come on AP get it sorted. Fed up of 400 away fands sounding louder then the home fans. City fans in the north stand could raise the roof .

Bizarre how this post states that Southyorkshiretiger made the comment? I made the comment in reply to a post made earlier???
Is the reply with comment thingy-me-bob broken??

I noticed that, no idea how it happened, but I've overwritten it now. <ok>

Edit: Now it looks like I've answered my own post. There must be something going wrong, I'll let Mick know.

The reply with quote thingy.

Somebody had missed out a [/QUOTE] tag and the whole thing went up in smoke.

Thank me later. Or not at all.

Very slightly off topic but although we all obviously less than love TWS there's no denying that they know how to make some noise. They've currently just gone 2-0 down but are still deafening in their support. Oh for just a little of that at the KC.

That's the Man U fans singing.

I wonder if those of you whining about "old gits" and people who actually just want to watch football and shout a bit rather than singing realised that if we removed these "destroyers of a good atmosphere" the ground would be 99% empty and gate receipts / season ticket income would be .... bad.

Those people being bitched about have also, dare I say, been supporters of the club a lot longer than some of the whiners too.

Finally, in response to something above, 50 football fans have NEVER been influenced by the views of 3 people, thats the most stupid analogy I've seen.

I sat in E3 for the first time in a long while on saturday, despite the atmosphere still been **** there was a distinct presence of arsehole about my immediate vicinity. One lad threatened to "deck me" for singing how **** must you be we're winning at home, before spending the rest of the game talking to his girlfriend.

I use to love home games, don't get me wrong I still do but the atmosphere is awful, where the hell is the logic that our 1000 regular traveling away clan easily out perform our home crowd. It's utter madness.

He probably had a point, it's a stupid song.

I suppose you have a tartan rug with matching flask too?
Oh, and 1979 was my first game!
I am also behind those that shout (constuctively of course, not the boo boys!) as this also adds to the atmosphere.
It is the narcoleptic users of the stadium (I can't call them fans) that are ruining the home games, you know those types that listen to Blunderside for away matches and know every minute detail of the game and as such can then phone in with the negative comments!

The point being made was to make emphasis on democracy and was used as an example that if 50 people want something, but 3 people don't, then surely the 50 peoples views should acted upon, in this case an unreserved seating area, well away from boring farts like you, where the fans who want to sing, stand etc can go and actually enjoy the game!
Perhaps they should have a sound proof area at the stadium for people like you, so you can watch the game in peace and quiet. If enough of you get together, then maybe the SMC might take your request seriously too!!
