The thing is Huddlestone looks as lean currently as at any other time in his career.

Le Tissier, Lambert, Rooney and Gerrard usually took good penalties. Other players should watch them. You get the impression that many penalty takers hardly ever practice penalties. How could Steve Bruce have thought that letting Aluko take a penalty would be a good idea?

Somehow I thought that Proschwitz had a good reputation for taking penalties - I could be wrong. Perhaps the Cardiff GK that day had practiced more at saving penalties. Who knows.
You may have been better highlighting the ratio of goals scored to chances presented in open play to prove your point rather than picking on one failed penalty. Whoever it was who said "always" should have done the same.
I seem to recall we had a discussion about penalty taking a couple of years ago Peter. <cheers>

The key to the deal must have been the sale (not loan) of Hernandez. Once it became clear that Torino weren't prepared to buy, that's when Gray moved on.

I still believe Hernandez will score more than Gray in this division.

It's doubt about the forwards that for me are about the only reason now why City might not have a great season. If Hernandez has found his level we could storm the division.

Really not a fan of all this public crying out, as Berahino has done today. He has shot himself right in the foot in terms of his short term future. Davies isn't to the same degree, but if you have an issue then you should go and knock on the managers door.

I don't know the statistics about chances to goals. The penalty was an easy one to highlight the suggestion that he always took his chances. I dont even think the penalty was the only easy chance he missed!

Maybe, I do think the stamina of some of our players is behind where it should be, it's a visual thing that some teams go for the full 90 plus injury time. Last season we visibly wilted after 80 odd minutes - I'm sure we concede a lot of goals in the last 5-10 minutes.

What an underwhelming signing. Looks like Bruce has spun his globe and signed somebody from where his finger ends up.

He was replaced by Harry Redknapp who took Tom and made him the key midfield figure in a side that qualified for the champions league, a key figure who captained Spurs in their champions league victory over then holders of the competition Inter Milan.

Huddlestone is far better than what Steve Bruce is getting from him, almost certainly down to the dreadful style of football we play.

Then it's up to Huddlestone to show how good he is. Why doesn't he ever take a game by the scruff and be the match winner that we all know he has the potential to be? Can't pin it all on SB - once the players cross the white line and all that.
