Not many managers have signed a striker for us that got into double figures. Not recently anyway, we've also been playing at much higher standard than the last time we had players hitting double figures.
They've already offered £2M!!!! hahaha, sorry, I know you missed the M off, but I thought it was quite funny that you said we wouldn't get more than £2.25 for himI think they will be lucky to get it higher that £2.25 and I think we need the time to move on more than the dosh.
I'm not holding my breath on Huddlestone being moved on, even Peter Swan's recognised the fact that he needs dropping, it must now be thought pretty universally.
Might be a long shot, but what about Peter Crouch permanent or on loan. He's not the quickest, but he will score goals at this level. Could be the target man we need.

Think I'll leave it, as it won't shock a lot on here!Peter Swan has jumped on the bandwagon with the Huddlestone article but I agree with him. Maloney should be a great signing, reminds me a bit of when we picked up the Bolton lad who helped us go up under Brownie Pederson, only one season with us but was a similar age and made a big differenceP
Peter Swan is a terrible journalist. A lot of what he says is either wrong or wide of the mark.
My point is. Don't use Peter Swan as beacon of truth or a way to validate a point. In fact I think using him as a way to validate a point does quite the opposite.
His strategy is throw enough mud at a wall and hope it sticks.
We have only lost one game this season and Huddlestone has played in every game. He needs as much time to settle with the new players as the new players do.
For what it's worth I think Bruce plays him in the wrong position, with the wrong tactics and the wrong role.
There is a real lack of ambition on here - we should be looking at players that we think are good enough for the Premier League and would do a job 'when' promoted.
Would we have been happy with Nolan, Forrestieri, Nuhiu etc (or whatever their names are!) if we were still in the premier league - we should be aiming for the best Championship players and best young premier league players and not players who would 'do a job' in the Championship.

At that level of competition you can see how good a player is when they can handle it, one of the reasons I was disappointed we got rid of a class act like Chester and are still stuck with Lumberstone and a few othersMaloney has 4 goals in 6 matches for the Scots in their Euro qualifiers. Pretty good considering it's a tough group.

Hopefully we will get rid this week comingChester's head was turned. Fair play to him he's got to think about his Wales career now as well.
£8m softened the blow a bit.
Huddlestone needs time on the bench- he might start playing better from doing so.

Wonder if City will sign a new bloke to do interviews.
