Meylers a similar player to Ashbee, in that he breaks up opposition play and does the things many fans seem incapable of seeing or appreciating. Has a goal in him too. Ashbee had as many haters as he did fans and it's no different for Meyler.

I'd love us to be at a stage where Michael Dawson is our weakest link, but we wont ever get there will we. I mean no pace, no ****ing pace at all for a PL player its a ****ing disgrace. Left foot, when just tell me when do you ever see Dawson use his left foot? Go on just tell me. Goals return!! When does he score. One was it last season.1 ****ing goal for an ex England international. Its not good enough. Davies scored 4 the year before. Steve Bruce scored 18 in a season once. Suggest you look at the 'Passing Accuracy' for Meyler in the PL and the Championship - Over 80%. Certainly no worse than anyone else in our team. I think it's a myth that he gives the ball away.
Let me contrast that with Jedinak at Palace that has just over 60% pass accuracy.
Meylers a decent player, really good at Championship level. In the prem however, it felt we just needed a little more quality at times, Meyler wasn't able to provide this.
The window hasn't shut yet. Why does everything gauge on the worst argument ever 'If he's a steady PL player why hasn't any other PL team come in for him?' ****ing hell - the same could be said of most players that came down with the 3 relegated teams. Rob Green/Austin/Huddlestone/Dawson/Elmo I suppose because they are currently playing for Championship teams then they are also not good enough.
