I remember playing against Roy Greenwood. He just stood on the touchline near the half way line. If I stood off him he would receive the ball and trot towards me and when I came to tackle him he would kick it past me and run round me. If I marked him closely the ball would be played behind me and he would run past me and collect the ball. That was in the days when I was quite fit but he had retired and was still incredibly fast.Wingers who hug the touchline mainly went out 50 years ago. The nearest thing in the modern game for me would be the wide players in a 4 4 2. You don't think Elmo is principally a winger?
