I remember playing against Roy Greenwood. He just stood on the touchline near the half way line. If I stood off him he would receive the ball and trot towards me and when I came to tackle him he would kick it past me and run round me. If I marked him closely the ball would be played behind me and he would run past me and collect the ball. That was in the days when I was quite fit but he had retired and was still incredibly fast.
I understand your need for clarity on the 'priorotise' positions , and you are aware of how many players were Injured last season , with very minimal cover.Mmmmm? perhaps Clucas is thought of in this context , whilst helping his development game.
I think Clucas will be alright. He's had a meteoritic rise up the leagues. He scored on his debut, he was unlucky with a header v Fulham. It takes time to adjust to new teams and new leagues and he's still young. I like his background and the fact he has never given up the belief, despite getting released twice. Ring any bells of any past City legends? He's got exactly the right appetite to be successful, perhaps he needs encouragement rather than criticism?
Looks like we might be out of time... Sky Sports News HQ @SkySportsNewsHQ BREAKING: Brentford striker Andre Gray having medical ahead of proposed move to Burnley.
Putting it to you like this, if McGregor currently gets injured, we presently have Jakupovic. Surely that's a more vital position to strengthen? If Clucas gets injured we can revert to a 3-5-2 or any number of formations to cover that loss. No matter what formation we play we need a decent keeper.
Interesting mind-change from Gray. Hopefully hasn't been reading the BBC and thinking Bruce has given up.
I would look at Vaz te, Vydra and possibly Gayle, but I think he will be just a expensive as Gray. I can see us getting another Sagbo or Prozzy.
Has anything official been said by Brentford FC with regard to Gray being able to even speak to Burnley? I appreciate that Sky are usually fairly reliable but I just can't see Burnley bidding the required amount in order for this deal to have progressed to the medical stage. It all seems a little weird, the fact that we're possibly being outbid by a club whose previous record purchase was a mere £3M.
I am reminded of Sky reporting Everton bidding for Odubajo which turned out to be BS, but this sort of report is usually not announced until it's confirmed.
I figured since OLM and I were the two most critical of the BBC's article yesterday that he'd figure I was kidding. Oh well.
