Gayle would be a decent signing for 6 up front and 8 total.

This makes absolutely NO SENSE. It can't be true. Gray is desperate to join us. Gayle considers the Championship beneath him. Gayle is probably on 3x Grays wages. His goal scoring record after Peterborough is poor. 12 in 48 at CP. And we are interested in Gayle because he'd cost us 1 mill. less up front. ARE WE MAD!! Exchanging a possible 20 goal scorer for a player unlikely to score half that. We already have Akpom who is far more suited to partner with Gray.

I don't believe Burnley are after Gray and I don't believe we're after Gayle if our first choice Gray is available for more or less the same price

I would really disagree with this. He has 12 in 48 in the PL at the age of 25. Gray has one season of 16 in 38 in the championship at the of 24. Both are potential 20 goal a season strikers at this level. Both are still developing and are young neither has had a long run I this league in their prime. I thinks it's insanely silly to think he would be lucky to score 10 goals a season in the championship when he has almost done that in the PL in a **** side. We are not a **** championship side, he will score for us and I have no doubt he would bag at least Grays 16 league goals last season. I'd rather have Gray but for less money I certainly don't think he is a silly option.

To be fair you are probably correct. Brendford isn't even talking about Burnley coming in for him so it might not be true at all.

Exactly what I said at length in a previous post. There can be no truth to this for the reasons I described. Just a stupid rumour. I repeat it makes NO SENSE!!

As things stand currently, we have enough strikers and despite their relegation clauses, they're still on big money. That being the case, I understand why we need to get rid of one before we bring in another, we obviously expected to have done so by now.

It's frustrating, as we obviously want Gray and he wants to come to us, but it is what it is (personally, I'd have taken Torino's loan offer for Hernandez and gone for Gray, but it's not my money).

Re the earlier point about the number of loans in the Championship, you can have up to nine in a match day squad.

My only real concern about outgoings, is Dawson.

Agreed, and that's where I'm coming from in regards to selling Jelavic on the cheap. The incoming transfer funds from either of those two isn't as important as getting their wages off the books and opening up a spot in the squad for Gray.

Seriously disappointed in you SCB, wasting your time on this. You must remember the chap decided to have a pop at me last year and was despatched with aplomb (I'm now favouring GLP's new Crusader style, it feels quite invigorating!). He's clearly below your status and you have besmirched the Brotherhood of Putter-Downers. Got to spend ages now going back and un-liking all of your liked posts. Stop been dosile ****, will ya! :emoticon-0105-wink:
YOU despatched ANYONE with aplomb?!? I had you ranked in the top 90% of posters on this forum but, I'm sorry, I'm going to have to drop you into the bottom 10%, just above Karl. I seem to remember randomly selecting you as a test sample after my first joining the forum (I think you'd made some stupid comment about a flurry of new users with, in your opinion, silly user names: correct me if I'm wrong), but I quickly moved on as you came across as a bit of a wet Nellie. As I said earlier today, perception is subjective, but that was my perception. However, your obviously jokey comment about the Brotherhood of Putter-Downers is actually not far from the truth; just as when I first joined the forum, several innocent newbies in the last few days have been needlessly attacked after their first post. Why? You generally seem to be a fairly decent guy; why would you want to be associated with the far-from-decent attack dogs?

Brucie confirmed we are interested in Gayle. It is not just a rumour. Please try and pay attention FFS.

The above was directed at Fez, not the resident leader of the bad lads, Benny Boy. Any unfortunate reader who's been following this sorry saga will be aware that BB has been sending his stupid stuff under my user name. It's easy to do; anyone can do it. But most people are reasonably ethical. Not these bad boys. It's such a shame, and I apologize for their shameless behavior.

I've just learned that transfer fees aren't levied and are tax exempt accounted for as an expense...

Incredible!!!

That means 99% of our countries football clubs with the obscene amounts of money floating around in the sport actually offer **** all to the countries economy, except via the income tax of the players they employ (who are actually paid in this country).

The amount of clubs that actually post a profit could be counted on one hand.

****ing swines
What does that mean? They are accounted for as fixed assets and are treated as capital allowances for tax. A transfer fee paid is treated as an expense but has accelerated tax relief which is just a timing difference. What did you think happened?
