If we miss out on Gray I'd be more than happy with Antonio. Different positions but would improve us more as a team I feel

People rave about his passing ability and yes technically he's a very good passer of all ranges, the problem is they are mostly in our half going cross field were they don't hurt anyone so the opposition don't need to panic. I bet most of dawsons crossfield passes go further forward than toms[/QUOTE
Excellent observation Geo. Last night I decided to replay the Wolves game which was on Tiger Player and see firstly how far Hudd actually ran with the ball and secondly tried to pass the ball on the ground through the middle to our strikers/players running into space. First answer...about 50 yards. Second answer - zero. He tried a few of his typical long passes....usually out to the wing (right) which mostly sailed far over the intended recipients head. As for his completion rate (stats) its boosted by the fact that 90% of his passes are 10 yarders backwards or sidewards, usually to the player who had just passed him the ball. His impact on the game was mainly to slow it down to the point that our players were either marked or had run offside, by the time he released the ball.
To me Hudd epitomizes what has gone wrong with our midfield play in the past two years. Livermore who tried to make runs through the opposition and averaged some of the highest yardage a game in the Prem last year, as well as putting in hard tackles, had no support from his MF partner. How many times was Hudd caught in possession due to his slow movement.? If any Prem team comes in with an offer, however low, we should grab it. He has become a waste of space.
He seems to be going through some transition crisis and he's lost sight of what he actually is and it seems easier for him and Bruce to let him play in this non effective risk free non contribution role
I think I might have to put my tin-pisser on for this one, but Stéphane Sessègnon has been released by WBA (I haven't seen it mentioned previously), he is 31 years of age and would be a good player for us at this level. He is/was a big favourite of Steve Bruce and I have to admit to liking him too. He would be an excellent foil up front for Akpom, he could be a very effective playmaker in midfield and he can cover either wing (pace might be a tad limited these days). I think he would take the piss out of Championship defences. I followed him in his Sunderland stint and, when played correctly he was excellent - certainly not a lone striker! Can somebody else look at his stats, please?
If we miss out on gray and we don't go for gayle I'd get hooper on loan and sign Lansbury and depending on the Livermore outcome another midfielderYou must log in or register to see media

Think he got released in the summer, for me it would depend on what we do with Diame and once snodgrass comes back. I'd like us to go 4231 then maybe we could find a space for him
What's the score with palacios
In not sure about jelavic, which pl club would take him on his performances this season and his Bullard knees. I'll make a bold statement "I think he's finished at the top table"Norwich want Jela according to the Daily Mail. Hope they do it quick so we still have time to act on Gray
At this point I'd take Olie The Goalie. Can we get Mannone back?
