That's my point our midfield is a car crash, I'm not saying toms a bad player he just doesn't do anything for our team. I carnt remember who it was I had the conversation with on here a few days ago (glp) I think. He had Tom as a deep playing midfielder but what does he do in that role he passes left to right occasionally going forward but as you say holds on to it for that split second to long and either loses it or delays the pass to long. If you move him further forward he doesn't support the attack because he doesn't get forward quick enough. For some reason he won't take a risk or a gamble it's all to safe a 10 yard pass left or right. He seems to be going through some transition crisis and he's lost sight of what he actually is and it seems easier for him and Bruce to let him play in this non effective risk free non contribution role In my opinion there's no chance of any pl team coming in for him until he sorts his own game out and decides what he is and what role he can play
I think I might have to put my tin-pisser on for this one, but Stéphane Sessègnon has been released by WBA (I haven't seen it mentioned previously), he is 31 years of age and would be a good player for us at this level. He is/was a big favourite of Steve Bruce and I have to admit to liking him too. He would be an excellent foil up front for Akpom, he could be a very effective playmaker in midfield and he can cover either wing (pace might be a tad limited these days). I think he would take the piss out of Championship defences. I followed him in his Sunderland stint and, when played correctly he was excellent - certainly not a lone striker! Can somebody else look at his stats, please?
Think he got released in the summer, for me it would depend on what we do with Diame and once snodgrass comes back. I'd like us to go 4231 then maybe we could find a space for him What's the score with palacios
If we miss out on gray and we don't go for gayle I'd get hooper on loan and sign Lansbury and depending on the Livermore outcome another midfielder
Not sure, thought he was released recently; he offers real options and a great deal of skill and experience - probably too old for Bruce's youth policy though. I think WP is on a fitness regime to see if he can come up to muster.
Norwich want Jela according to the Daily Mail. Hope they do it quick so we still have time to act on Gray
£9M seems like a lot of money for Gray, but I can understand why he's worth that to Bristol City. Similar gamble to us paying £10M for Hernandez.
You can't enjoy reading a good discussion on here without the usual bedwetters & complainers moaning like a bunch of on rag ****s. The irony is that it's their whinging, moaning, bedwetting & weak personalities that are the real reason threads get derailed & not the people discussing various topics, whatever they may be. Do you pissy pant ****s honestly believe that a 3 month transfer thread will not digress from topic? If you took out all the posts from the offended few the thread would be half the size & twice as good. ****s.
As a promising player at this point in time going to a club like Bristol City should be a non starter. Dwight Gayle did exactly the right thing because a move to them at this point is below where he should be and the same applies for Gray.
In not sure about jelavic, which pl club would take him on his performances this season and his Bullard knees. I'll make a bold statement "I think he's finished at the top table"
Funnily enough we're buying player(s) from a club Brentford, that runs the team on analysis and statistics, sources players based on statistical analysis. It is why Warburton didn't have his contract renewed, as he didn't fully buy into it and it is why Dijkhuizen was brought in this season, because he had used a similar system in Holland. Gray was brought into Brentford based on his statistical performances at Luton. The same for Odubajo at Leyton Orient. Brentford don't seem to have done a bad job, given the size of the club and the division they are currently in.
