We know he's in Hull,.but surely he can't train with us. Imagine if he got seriously injured training with us, we'd pull the plug and they'd get nothing.

He'll be doing something, by the time this episode is over he might not have trained for a week otherwise.

Yes he could, it simply needs an agreement between all parties, an agreement that is mutually beneficial all-around - despite what some like to believe, there is still a strand of common sense in football.

Aye, it's an interesting one this. I was quite strong with Chazz that I thought we had better and more important things to do than rehabilitate WP; to be fair, that was based on the principal that we would sign him to do this. I am pleased to see that we appear to have dealt with this in a new and encouraging way, which is to invest a bit of expertise in rehabilitating his fitness without making a contractual commitment. Perhaps we have turned a corner; let's hope Wilson can, too.

Good post Fez. I think Palacios will be a great addition once he has proved his fitness.

Thing is these early games could be the difference in points between a top 6 finish or not and we don't want to be throwing away points because we haven't made signings in time.

Yep, that's always been my point; we really do need to hit the ground running and keep running.

Don't necessarily agree. The sides that start a Championship season strongly are rarely the sides that end up top. I remember the year we went up Blackpool started like a house on fire, and we sputtered along until deadline day when we picked up Quinn.

Also, that article from Sky looks bollocks considering our local media are far more reliable and have already indicated the bid was rejected.

Tell Newcastle that. I'd far rather lead than play catch-up. But anyway, are you saying your tactics would be to lose a few to satisfy your strange analysis? <doh>

Don't think I said that at all, just that this notion that dropping points early means we can't do well come season's end is rubbish.

Of course I'd rather we start like a house on fire and maintain it all season, but it's a 46 game season FFS. If we don't finalise signings until the end of the window so start with a few draws and losses in amongst the wins, the sky won't be falling on our season.
