Palacios not signed....

From HDM...

"We're going to try and put him on a fitness programme to see if he can regain the fitness levels that will be required.

"If he gets there, which I sincerely hope he does, then we've got a very good player on his hands.

"I know him well so we'll just have to wait and see how he gets on."

Preparing for long spells on the bench already, I see.

Cheers, he looks decent Boga. Not sure Chelsea would lend us anybody though think they have special arrangements with certain clubs like Vitesse? maybe though I only found this out by accident watching the Southampton Vitesse game

Hudd plays so deep at times that he might aswell be CB, could be a tactical masterstroke playing him there in a four would give us a brilliant distributor from the back, and he did get compared to Beckenbauer a few years ago.....

Dawson ain't half bad at pinging the ball around from the back, Huddlestones better off in midfield, sitting deep. What he needs is Attack minded players about him making runs to make use of his extraordinary passing ability not a load of defensive players sitting back offering no options.

If Dawsons out he could be a good like for like, and lets face it Dawson will be out at times injured

Huddlestone's one pass is really pinging it out to the right side. He doesn't really do through passes and they can be off target anyway. He's also quite slow, so I don't really want him in defence if that means he gets caught with the ball even nearer the penalty area. Maybe if players are slower he won't be caught as much but his tackles don't exactly endear him to referees either.

LINGAARD SET FOR UNITED EXIT

Manchester United will let Jesse Lingard leave the club, with Bristol City hoping to tie up a £2.5m deal, reports The Sun.

Thats what prompd my post hatem, seems a good price for an england under 21 regular, creative, scores goals think it could be a snip at 2.5m

I'm starting to feel slightly more optimistic about this season as the new signings come in. My main concern wasn't that the players we have aren't good enough, but more about our problems with strength in depth and options with the season being so long.

With the following signed;

Clucas
Hayden
Akpom
Taylor
Odubajo

And potentially;

Bentley
Gray
McNair

And with the players we currently have, it could be an interesting season and it makes a starting 11 very difficult to pick. We may not sign them all and not all of these players could stick with us once the season has started.
