Aren't parachute payments supposed to cover that to an extent? Either way, we've reduced our wage bill since being relegated by releasing and selling players. I think it's pretty obvious the Allam's aren't going to splash the cash because they've have their ridiculous name change rejected for a second time but replacing our players with inferior ones on the cheap won't get us back to the Premier League.

I still don't understand why we released Rosenior only to replace him with an injury-plagued liability like Taylor.

Allam's pride?

If that offer from Torino is correct at €8m - we'll only lose £4.4m on this deal. What a thoroughly **** waste of money signing he was. We paid far more than his actual market value.

I can see something similar happening again - all strikers go on last day of window and we sign anybody we can find
we should only have release clauses valid to end of July.

Yup, Brucey cocked up massively on that one.. It was 100% correct to sell Long for the £13m or whatever we got for him but Bruce HAD to get the replacement right.. he didnt..

We haven't got an offer from Torino, the article says it's what we're demanding, not what they're willing to pay. I'll still be amazed if we don't end up having to ship him out on loan.

Has a familiar ring to it. When the missus & me split up, she got paid far, far more than her market value. I haven't seen any parachute payments either.
