It only works that way though, everyone says a goalkeeper doesn't really come into their own until late 20's to mid 30's. If age is such an issue why are we looking at a 22yr old goalie, that obviously needs a lot of development and won't be near the first team for the next 7-8yrs.
If they're good enough, it doesn't matter how old they are
If this lad on our radar is good enough now, he'll be performing at a much higher than average level by age 23-24.
There have been many keepers who've been excellent pre-25 years old. Off the top of my head: Robinson, Jennings,Cech,Banks,Shilton, Yashin,Casillas, etc etc.
It just takes 'em longer to deteriorate than outside players. Good goalies stay good a lot longer, starting around 23.

So, the last line of my post (that you didn't highlight) - At the end of the day if you're good enough, it doesn't matter how old they are. Covers what you've just posted!!!!

So we're selling Brady for £7m, replacing him with Clucas for just over £1m... thats pretty good business considering Clucas will only be backup to Robertson who can now flourish on the left wing.

Hopefully we'll get Snodgrass fully paid off and there might even be a little left over from the Brady deal for Bentley?

Sold Ince for £5 million and we're now selling Brady for £7 million. Our first signing is £1.3 million. Maybe it's a shrewd signing, or maybe Allam's pocketing most of the money from the transfers to pay off the 'loans'.

Audio confirmation from Chesterfields manager, about 4 minutes in..

he says "He's gotta have a medical, sad to see him go, one of our better players"

"offered near enough £1.3m"

Sounds to be the first in then... Well as close as it gets without being official.

I don't know much about him! Is he capable of playing in the prem if we manage to bounce back up?

I would hope every transfer we make as a Championship club would be capable, but I presume until we see him week in week out vs better players we will never really know

And what has Huddlestone done? He's more central and should have a better view of the goal for shots. I think Elmo is more inconsistent with his crossing considering he gets so much much practice at doing it with the passes out to him.

I think it's highly questionable to say that Robertson puts better crosses in, because I really haven't seen that. Robertson is more about the hope that he will become better.

Ok..? So we should sell them too?
