I've no issue playing Elmo at right back, particularly in the Championship, but on several occasions last season he should have been playing right wing with Rosie behind him.

Far too often he was pegged back in what we effectively a five man defence, when we should have had Rosie in a back four, freeing him up to the attacking role he's more suited to.

Particularly against ****ing Burnley at home. <doh>

He was our player, we loaned him out to the league we now find ourselves in, he scored 11 from 18, we had first dibs on letting him prove that form is class by allowing him to turn that into 28 from 46 (no cup games). Those 28 goals might, as you cynically point out, not be guaranteed, but personally, I believe we will always wonder what we missed.
We had that kind of proven potential and now we must look elsewhere to replace it; your 'we aren't going to miss him' ****e is just that.

Ince has a good goal scoring record in the Championship, but you're getting a bit carried away, in his best ever season he scored 18 in 44 games. That season and last season were the only times he got into double figures, he's got a good record, but could just as easily score less than ten next season.

It seems we're definitely after Andre Gray, but can't make a move until we shift one or two of our existing strikers...

I can understand the striker situation delaying things, but the article claims we're also after Whittingham, yet we've not even made contact yet. Midfield signings can't be based on outgoings, we've barely got any left.

And Brady's back up to £9m. <laugh>

Realistically, how is Brady actually worth? He didn't play that much last season and everyone on here complained about him when he did

Not getting carried away at all; if you take his games by the level they are played at and tweak for circumstances, it is not too hard to look at those most recent 18 games as a bloody good indicator of form at a given level - form with a decent level of pressure on performance - so I can see no reason whatsoever to decide to call 11 from 18 anything other than bloody good figures and exactly what we would be looking for if not for our own crass management of the player. I wonder what frailties we will accept in the player that replaces him - is Whittingham without flaw?

Think were going to have to be patient in this transfer window, it would appear that city are determined not to get screwed or involved in a fire sale of player's this time around which is good to see, I don't think much will happen till the 11th hour when we'll see it go cracker's, the only problem there is, we run out of time and don't get our 1st choices targets, on another point is it just me, but its been very quite from SB and city not a peep out off either, very little if nothing to the local press(I known there's been a couple of article's in the national press, but to be fair I trust the local press just a little more)

No player is without flaw.

We'll find out in the coming months just how costly(or not) the sale of Ince was, either way it's done now.

Totally agree, but the fools who have created this situation remain. It is ludicrous that our targets are known but we are ransomed to sell before we can buy - but this is the way to run the club as a business <doh>
