We have already got rid of 3 of our better players, and there'll be more to follow. Top Championship strikers cost £8-15 million in the current market, and we're just not going to spend that. Our best hopes are with speculative buys from the lower leagues and the loan market.

Who are these "better players" we've gotten rid of?

Whilst I'd never claim to be 'ITK', I get the odd bit of info. Both Dawson and Chester are happy to stay, although it'd be interesting to see if Chester feels the same way if someone puts a bid in. I've no doubt Jela would play to his best if he didn't get a move away, but N'Doye will not be happy playing for a Championship team, nor will Diame. I've not heard anything regarding Hernandez but one would assume he's in the same boat. Bruce has also said how he expects those four to all go. How often do players actually come out and say, "I don't want want to play for *team name*". I know it has happened but it's very rare.

But that's just an assumption. If nobody comes in for N'Doye this Summer, do you think he'd be unprofessional and kick up a fuss? I don't think he's unhappy here; I'm sure a lot of players were disappointed that we went down, it doesn't mean that they're going to be dicks about it. He might be happy playing for a Championship team until he gets a better team elsewhere.

We've already been linked with Andre Gray. He was one of the best Championship strikers last season.

The only reason the three strikers are leaving is they don't want to play in the Championship and they have more than likely had a reduction - plus let's be honest. I wouldn't think they would even stand out in the Championship - Jelavič aside - but even he is too injury prone.

It needs a freshen up - without significant investment we won't get promoted. Without significant investment it is pointless hanging onto the players we are hanging onto when in reality we could cash in on any/all of them and just look forward to maybe doing a Wigan.

Given that we are wanting to hang onto core players suggests to me that Bruce will have backing for better Championship players in the market. Otherwise we may as well pack up and go home.

I suppose it depends on what you mean by significant investment. I don't expect us to spend a great deal and I don't expect us to get promoted.

I admire your optimism but I can't share it.

TWT, as always.

Which would come in January if he performed well and did have to play for us.

No, I thought I put how it wasn't just an assumption?

I think that's exactly what he'd do.

Does it? Looks like a statement of fact to me, which is what it was supposed to be, apologies if I didn't make that clear.

Fair enough, it's just how I read it. Had you said something like "N'Doye ISN'T happy", it would've implied fact. Either way, 50k a week in wages is going to be a sticking point for the level of club that might be interested in him, unless he drops his rumoured wage demnads, he might be around come the start of the season.

He might be, I'd be very surprised if he's here when the window closes though, and I certainly hope he isn't.

What is (was) he on with us. In sure Brucie said he took a massive wage cut to join. Or am I just making that up?

A while back there was a report that Swansea were willing to match his 50k per week wages, so maybe he was on that?

By Championship standards I think we will spend a bit. Allam wants to sell the club at a guess - or at least I hope he does. We've got players here that we want to keep who are too good for this division. What is clear is that by wanting to keep these players, we want to be back in the PL. If that means a couple of high calibre signings mixed with some decent loans then that will be ok.

I really would focus on a prolific front line two decent money signings Gray/Rhodes with an ALF and a free Cole, Whittingham. A midfielder on loan and a Keeper on loan.

We may spend say £6 million, but when you consider that we're going to need 8/9 players, that really isn't very much.

Talk of Rhodes is just laughable. Brentford will probably be after £6 million for Gray, which is more than we just sold a more prolific winger who was younger than him for.

Whittingham wouldn't be available for free, Cardiff would want a fair wad for him I would expect.

1-2 million was mentioned on here. Cardiff fans seem to be keen to let him leave as they think he is passed it.

Huddlestone doesn't want out, he's happy to stay, as is Chester.

On top of the three strikers who we're obviously trying to shift, we expect to have difficulty holding on Diame(though we've got a decent chance of his injury keeping him with us until Jan) and we'll accept any half decent offer for Davies. It will take a hefty offer for Brady, or Robertson, but one might well come in(particularly for Brady).

Not what I've heard but I could always be wrong.

118 pages of bullshit. heh the window has only been open for a week or so.
Apart from Ince (which we all knew about anyway)McG, Rosssssssssssie and McShame, **** all is happening!

comon SB get your targets early, then you have more chance of getting them, else we will be left with the dregs no one wants!
