Tigers boss Steve Bruce admitted last night that he has lost the battle to keep Brady at the KC Stadium following the club's relegation

Brady is set to leave Hull for Carrow Road
Robbie Brady has inched closer to completing a £7million switch to Norwich by snubbing a bumper new deal at Hull.

Tigers boss Steve Bruce admitted last night that he has lost the battle to keep Brady at the KC following a week of intensive talks with the Republic of Ireland international winger.

Now the newly-promoted Canaries are primed to snare the former Manchester United ace at the FIFTH attempt after having four previous bids rejected by the relegated Yorkshire outfit.

Bruce revealed:”I have done everything I can to try and persuade Robbie to stay here and help us get back into the Premier League at the first attempt.

“But he’s had two seasons in the top flight with us and that’s where he wants to carry on playing again next season, it’s as simple as that.

Bruce admits Hull will struggle to keep Brady
“That’s the bottom line for Robbie and I just have to face up to the fact that, even though I don’t want him to go, I’m resigned to losing him.”

Bruce slapped a £9million price tag on Brady,23, after dismissing Norwich’s opening offers of £2million, £2.5million and £3million as “ridiculous and embarrassing.”

But the two City’s are ready to hit a compromise figure that will see Brady check in at Carrow Road as boss Alex Neil’s third summer signing following the arrival of midfielders Youssouf Mulumbu and Graham Dorrans from West Brom.

I'll tell you what isn't in the papers. The crowd trouble and fans fighting on the pitch at the egg chasing last night.

I don't want Brady to leave, but for 6 million, he can go. At that price in the last year of his contract, we are taking norwich for a ride as he is worth nowhere near that. Keep Robertson and its all good as far as I am concerned.

I wonder what percentage of players have them ? Are they commonplace when there is also a relegation clause ?

I'm concerned we'll get to the last day of the window and 2/3 key players will have buy-out figures met and leave us scrapping around
for replacements at the eleventh hour.

It's a two way street. If we have relegation clauses that reduce wages by 50% then they have buy out clauses inserted - that was my understanding from the Bruce interview last night. I think we've got a 4 to 5 with a buy out clause? May be wrong.

In his interview Bruce seemed to be confirming that all players with a relegation clause also have a buy out clause to balance things. I suspect a player wouldn't sign a contract with a relegation clause unless there was also a buy out clause. I'm sure his agent would see to that.

I'd imagine the buyout clauses would be in N'Doye, Hernandez, Jelavic, Huddlestone, Diame. It wouldn't be in Elmo/Chester/Brady's contract that's for sure

Bruce suggested Chester had a buyout clause, during his interview last night.

Find it odd that Chester hasn't been snapped up yet. Fingers crossed we get out of the window with our current defensive unit (plus a GK added)

Starting to think we may only lose Brady and N'Doye and if that is the case with the £15m recouped plus whatever we get from Sky we might have to rely on some of the kids who played last night.

Would love it if we give youth a chance and it worked. Only takes bringing a couple through to get that reputation where parents start to opt for us as a destination for their kids to get signed to for the future.

Hope we keep Chester, although I think Swansea might come in for him before the window shuts, there been a couple of articles in the south wales press over the close season were Chester's name has cropped up, Ashley Williams was singing his praise of Chester in one of the articles.

The Brady leaving business is entirely down to money, football does not come into it, whether it's the Allams or Brady himself who knows?
The owners will cash in to the tune of circa 7M on a player who won't sign a new deal and will walk for free..... or....... Brady himself will be chasing the pay rise. Why else sign a deal with the realistic prospect of two clubs switching leagues again in twelve months and finding himself back in the championship?

    Football is always about money.

Wish Brady well when he leaves. Arrived as a wide player who thought he was better than he is. Knuckled down and changed position.

In football manager terms he should have a composure rating of 1 and also suffers with having no football brain.

£6-7m is a decent price. Shows what you can do with ex-Man U youth players I guess

I suspect if we sell Brady to Norwich, Manchester United maybe due a little windfall, as I they will probably have have a percentage if he gets sold on for more money.
