Weird bit of business.. Yeah OK, obviously the Allams have doubled their money, and in any business, thats brilliant. But from a football perspective, its not good.

Firstly, signing a young, talented English player on a 2 year deal was strange to say the least. He was always going to see how his first season went with us and then he's very much in the driving seat 2nd season as he can leave on a free in 6 months.

Secondly, Loaning him out twice in his first season was always going to piss him off, why would he want to come back to us? Not only that, but agreeing a transfer fee in the loan deal... its just bizarre

End of the day, your never going to find a player as good as that who will only get better for under £5m

It's all too believable. We know Bruce wanted to keep Ince and Quinn, but he couldn't, which shows he failed in his primary transfer window target. He should have kept Rosenior and McShane, but he didn't, which shows he failed in his easiest of transfer window decision, a logical decision that would have enabled him to focus on other, more crucial problems. I find it incredible that folk want him to stay, why?

Who is Tom Ince's dad?
How man other clubs was Ince touted around for the two seasions prior to joining us?

Bruce promised Paul Ince that he would give Tom game time if he signed for us (the Europa League).

That didn't go to plan and Bruce had to send him out on loan.
It will have been Paul Ince who insisted in the clause in the Derby deal.
Bruce will have had no choice but to agree to those terms because he couldn't offer Ince football in the starting 11.

We don't want to sell. The club's hand is been forced by Ince senior.

The thing is ince scores goals at this level, goals is the part of the game the rest of the squad struggle with so to let him go is a debacle

Alarm bells were ringing yes at the deal being only two years in the first place but how fckuing moronic is it that the club hold his contract for the coming season, want him to stay but have absolutely no say in it if he does or not.
In fact it's beyond moronic.... heads should roll for this but they won't because of the 4m.
A 4m that will not replace one the best championship performers of recent times.

But had he played and given more of a chance and not agreed fee inserted (which in my opinion means you don't want him) it would have been easier to get him to stay than join another chapionship team
 
Steve Bruce is taking the City squad to Portugal on Monday to start the pre-season training, could we realistically sign anyone before Monday? Or is Steve Bruce going to get potential signings to head-over to Portugal for medicals and completing contract negotiations?
