Highly doubt it'll happen then. Football-rumours is literally just that... rumour. However this is interesting from Twitter

BBC Humberside Sport ‏@HumbersideSport
#hcafc are on the brink of another signing. The latest @RadioHumberside 0625, 0725 & 0825.

Normally I'd get excited about that but as it's probably going to be Alex Bruce...........I'll not!

BTW LMT if you don't mind I think that tweet deserves it's own thread.

Seen some Wigan twitter site is claiming Bruce has enquired about taking ginger Watson on loan

Ben Watson was subject to one of the funniest chants I've heard at a football match, when we played them at the DW a few years ago. He was taking a corner in front of us:

"You're just a **** Steve Sidwell!"

Made me chuckle anyway <laugh>

Just been Reading The sunderland boards cause im a bit of a saddo, Seems Meylers staying at Sunderland now, that might explain our reported interest in Buszacky.

Another player id like to see join us, Did Well when Hughesy played him for QPR last season. Would add more quality and depth instead of relying on a hot and cold Cairney or a just cold Oli as back up to Koren

Does seem like he's trying to bring another attack minded midfielder in with the links to Watson and Buszacky.

Is there actually a reported interest? I thought it was more that a number of people on here would like us to sign him.

That's usually how the rumours start! <laugh>

I might start a thread about signing Messi, and an article should pop up on the Daily Fail about Bruce potentially putting in a loan bid for Lionel Messi. ;)

Why isn't this a sticky anymore?

Anyway, rivals:

Forest have been making defensive recruitments with Danny Collins a good capture, according to Sky they're set to make moves for Greg Halford and Damien Delaney.

...Leeds continue to keep 'buying' (or should that be taking?) Pompey's best players, with Ashdown, Pearce and Varney, it looks like they're about to sign Norris - who scores a fair bit, so a good signing for them. Signing 4 players from the same team will probably help them gel quickly too.

We've got a mention on a Crystal Palace story - http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11688/7939177/Eagles-close-in-on-Allart
Dougie Freedman is a shrewd manager, £300k could be a bargain...

Allart came to prominence following a successful campaign with Ligue 2 side Boulogne where he netted 12 goals in 32 games.

Freedman:

"We are not close on other targets," he added. "We want to get the right type in with the right characters and ability.

"We need to wait and see. It's difficult right now when your competitors can pay big money.

"I think Hull signed a striker for £2.5 million. When that happens, you've got to be patient and you look for that rough diamond."

Transfer window closes on 31st August, Loan window is later but the rules are more complicated as the tiers differ so you'll probably have to ask Ricardo - he seems to be the expert on everything technical <laugh>

I'm not sure about that, I think loans stop at the same time as the full transfer window but they restart again something like a week later until something like mid-November.

The transfer window is 1st July to 31 August, then there's the emergency loan window(for everyone but the Premier League clubs), which is open from 8th September to 25th November.
