Hey, it shouldn't matter what colour the kettle is!![]()
Well, it sounds racist to me!!!!
Why "..all our Muslim players.."? Why not just name Tiote and Cisse? or even all our other Muslim players.
Please plug your brain in before speaking.

Amusing Pretentiousness.
Over the 2 years you've been here, I've really enjoyed seeing you lurk in the shadows, picking out certain posts to respond to at random times and trying to make yourself look like the intellectual. (Can't wait to here a response such as "I just don't like drawing attention to myself... unlike a certain someone" or "I just prefer not to post that often).
---------------------------
However, I do regret my original comment to an extent. What I would have said if I could take it back is I would enjoy seeing the Muslims who allow their faith/culture to cause such controversy and influence things so much around the club to go.
And when I say I regret my original comment to an extent, I mean to an extent.
I said "all our muslim players" because it honestly slipped my mind that Haidara and Sissoko were Muslims. It wasn't due to any sort of hatred of Muslims.
I was only thinking of Tiote and Cisse, and I never considered Ben Arfa because, despite the fact that he comes from an Arabic/Muslim background, I never thought of him as a person who cared that much about his origins or religion.
Pick the bones out of my statements if you will, but I really don't think Ben Arfa is much of a Muslim. I don't think that just because someone is born to a Muslim family that they should be identified as Muslims.
Some of the other players, such as Cisse and Tiote, have shown that they do care about their culture/belief. But Ben Arfa, not really.
Probably a load of ****e like.

I am a little on the fence on this subject.
If Cisse has in fact stated that he wont wear the top because of religious beliefs then although I respect his decision to a degree it strikes me as being incredibly selective.
While he is running around every football pitch there are adverts all over the shop about the same sorts of adverts. He don't complain then.
He is getting paid a ridiculous amount of money, sponsorship etc to kick a ball around a pitch.
Religion should never get in the way of someones job. The fact that he has to wear a shirt to play football should not matter. He has the choice to NOT agree to its contents.... Simples!
Are you telling me that there are muslims turning down jobs that do not fit in with their religion.
Crikey some of the muslims in question have shops that DONT PAY TAXES!
El Habsi is a muslim and he wore the wigan football top all season without any questions. He maintains his religion just fine.
I dont buy any of this **** about Cisse not wanting to wear the football tops. Tell that to the many peoples lives he keeps going when he gives his hard earned millions each year for playing football. The main source of his salary is from things he "dont believe in"
Wow I sound really bad in this post but what I am trying to say is, Its a ****ing T-Shirt - get over it!
Someone take his shovel away, please.
Firstly, I post when I want to, nothing more sinister.
Secondly, the underlined parts above just reinforce my first comment. Others also seem to agree with my sentiment as per Agent's comment in entry 24.
Thirdly, you criticise those who have faith and belief and try to live to those standards. Why?
Fourthly, your input into this article contradicts the comment made by you in entry 37.
Does that deal with your queries???
Sigh. There always has to be one that has to take conversations on this forum past respectful laid back conversation.
Get over it Tash, if you don't like what people say ignore it and move on.
We are so brainwashed to believe that anyone from a Muslim background will participate in Ramadam and agree with Sharia Law.
Some will and some don't (just look at the s*** that's going on in Egypt etc).
Cisse may well have his beliefs, that's his personal choice, but, it doesn't mean to say the others like Tiote and Ben Arfa have the same.
Its like saying all Christians shouldn't eat meat on a Good Friday, which just doesn't happen.
FFS let Cisse be - it will sort itself out.
That said, if he wont wear Wonga on the shirt, IMHO, the club should make very effort to look at other options including the printing of the 'Offside Rules' in the space as an alternative.

IMO - Cisse should take a cut in pay.
Advertisements are how the club makes a significant amount of it's money. Having the players wear the shirts with advertisements on them is part of this.
So If he refuses to wear a shirt with Wonga on it and damage, even if just slightly, the profits of the club, he shouldn't be paid as much. He's paid to put his body on the line for entertainment and to help make the club he's playing for money.
Sigh. There always has to be one that has to take conversations on this forum past respectful laid back conversation.
