Here's my mate Shaun, who's been flat out doing roof repairs since storm Barra, this week he's dressed up as Santa to add a bit of festive spirit

Complete lunatic

Well done Shaun, continuing the great British tradition of putting yourself out for no other reason than to give other people a laugh ...

... I'm not sure how we rank, across the globe in other aspects, but in this respect we're absolutely world class <laugh>

This will be first first Xmas for a few years that I'm not working on Xmas Day. I'm down to work but the missus made me put holidays in. Bit strange to be off tbh especially since we decided to go away but with Boris playing silly buggers and work not helping when I was due back we cancelled. Wishing everybody who frequents this board a very happy Xmas and here's hoping we get back to some kind of normality in 2022

But how will all the children in the world get their presents ...

There's been some wonderful things posted on here again this year ...

... some that really make you think.

My Dad was with us until I was married but I never really knew him. He was a hard drinking Geordie who was either at work, the Legion or down the allotment. I wish I could spend some time with him and ask him about his life before me, his service in WW2 and his family.
I know next to nowt.

Been a great thread this, really enjoyed it last year, and it's continued the same this year.

I notice from previous threads you worked in Nottingham (rock city?)....did you ever come across or know of a comedian called Neville King?

Aye he did a bit.
I know it was a bit random question, he was my mates dad, and you mentioning your dad, reminded me of it. He knew him well into adulthood, but never really "knew" him...he always away working the circuits.

Was your dad from leadgate? I know you have said you lived there as a kid...

Tree’s up…. Feeling more festive by the day. And tucking into the wine….

can’t post a photo on here for some reason, which is a bit ****e as I managed to get my SAFC decorations on the tree this year, inc me Sunderland sprouts!
It might be that your pic is too "big".
If your using an android phone, go the the photo you want to post and.....
1. Click on the icon that looks like a pencil (edit)
2. Top right hand corner there is 3 dots, click on that.
3. Click "resize"
4. Choose "60%", and then click "save"

Then to post, click on the "upload a file", click "browse", then choose the picture you have just saved, and then when the picture has uploaded, choose "full size image".
Then click "post reply".

Hope this makes sense....
