... this time next week.

However we see this time of year I truly believe there is a Christmas spirit.

It's a time when even the most logical, sensible and committed non-believer is shifted from their usually stoic position imo.

Despite what people might say I don't believe it's just another day for anyone.

Every year I marvel at how a real sense of community and compassion appears and how people are just a little nicer to those they come into contact with. It's a cumulative effect and we all behave how we'd probably like to all year round.

Whether you agree or not I'd like to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas ...

... there aren't many times when we can share a special day so let's all rejoice in it.

Happy Christmas mate to you and your family ! are you attending the panto this year ?

Yes mate, Panto night is this Saturday, the 21st, at the Theatre Royal Nottingham ...

... we'll follow the usual sackless tradition of meal, pub crawl, panto and Rock City for a photo with the bouncers and Hell's Angels.

As a lifeling Sunderland supporter I'm quite an authority on watching a pantomime unfold before my eyes <laugh>

My little girl's got her nativity play tomorrow at nursery, got the day off to watch her. I believe she's a snowflake and she's got her own song to sing. It certainly helps me to feel the Christmas spirit when you've got kids who almost explode from excitement every morning when they see the tree.

Fantastic. Very proud parent. Enjoy every moment of it as they grow up so quickly. Merry Christmas.

Good post Smug.

Wishing everyone a merry Christmas. One of the best parts of Christmas for me is seeing the awe in the little ones eyes when they first wake up see what's under the tree.

On a different note...

Sadly it seems that political correctness has reached out and affected Christmas. A childcare centre in Australia this year informed parents that they wouldn't be celebrating in the usual manner. Rather than Christmas (Santa, nativity etc) they were introducing the "Sustainability Pirate" .
One kid reacted "But a pirate will steal all the presents" :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Enjoy the nativity play mate, and take a little tissue for when your daughter starts singing. It's a choker, believe me.

Love Xmas me like even like Xmas tunes on radio, buying presents, seeing family friends and getting merry!

Panto can do one though :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I love Christmas.

I’ve no kids or owt, maybe next year, but I love the whole atmosphere of it, even all the daft carry on at work etc.

My dad is quiet fella but loves a full house, great host, everyone goes there for dinner and he sits there happy as a pig in **** till he invariably ends up hammered and asleep by 6, at which point me and the mother usually go o to another level and end up hammered singing Womack & Womack in the kitchen.

What’s not to like about a time of happiness?

Get fed up with same old Xmas Tunes and can get merry any day I choose. Generous all year round and don't need the excuse of xmas to give or get merry. Watched Panto all season at SOL..... Roll on the New Year!!
