This was obviously a non starter every season st the start of the window we get linked with one or two players we never have any intention of signing

Rs fans, whats austin like anyway? any proof at all to my inkling that hes a bit of a knob end or am i way off? With the rumours that we are also after berahino who seems to be a definite annoyance and with us also unable to shift the increasingly aggravating cisse I worry that we are trying to form some sort of tri force of cock ends up front. Maybe we will just irritate people into submission, works for mourinho.

obviously we wont sign either anyway so this is all just fantasy

He's ****e anyway playing for any London club score a few goals and your gods gift.

He's ****ing class. Runs his nuts off, plays through injuries, leads from the front. Give him a sniff in the box and he'll usually at least hit the target. Not really suited to being a line striker as he's not the quickest.

Oh look what we have here another worms meal that thinks he's anything but.

What does that even mean?

People will cream over Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs players as much as United, City or Liverpool. They'll probably underrate anyone good at Palace or West Ham as much as they would at Newcastle or Sunderland. Has nothing to do with them playing in London.

Ignore him, he doesn't even like Newcastle let alone another place in England!

Personally I don't believe he's a £15m player.

I've commented that Charnley's a sub-human fckwit in the past, but in reality I just think he's not very good at his job. I mean, it happens, it's easy to get OTT in the media-frenzy and forum-angst, but it could just be that he's simply not fit for purpose. Similarly Carr is not a DOF, which is his assumed title, right? All of which stems back to the owner, who again isn't Satan incarnate, but is simply a man whose ideals and principals don't really work in football.

Was reading an interesting article where So'ton (profit £31m last Summer) and Swansea (net spend of about 50p) still progressed through solid stewardship. We bemoan lack of activity, but I think a lot of us see it as much, much more than that. We spent £26m last Summer. Badly. We have no kids producing on the pitch. Whose responsibility are these things?

£15m doesn't go a long way on strikers nowadays. Bony and Lukaku were both near double that. Remy would have been much more if he didn't have a release clause. I think someone is getting a great deal if £15m is the fee.

I think where any NUFC fan is going to struggle is in saying definitively anyone would be great. Bas Dost is a type of player, Austin a different one, Aubameyang another - is any Geordie confident any of the three would succeed? I don't think we are. The team has no spine, no identity, no leadership and it's echoed in senior management. We cant make decisions for sh!t, ever fearful we don't get "pound for pound" value. Srnicek summed it up nicely saying that the club's stance of saying they'd rather not do the deal than pay slightly over the odds is a bad strategy. The club's problem is how does Graham Carr know, definitively, which player(s) are going to solve our problems? He can't. But he's given license to make that call. Fundamentally flawed.

Austin may be, in certain circumstances, "worth" £15m, but not to a present NUFC he's not.
