Please hurry up and buy him so he can stop being linked with us for silly money... scared that Rodgers might actually fall for it :(
If you are waiting for us to commit you are wasting your time. We are doing it properly this time. Mike Ashley has told Steve that he needs to take at least 2 months assessing the current playing staff before deciding what he needs. He will then send this list by 2nd Class Post to Graham Carr, who after a two week holiday, will then put together an acquisition plan to be presented at the next board meeting. After agreement of this list Carr will start scouting the agreed transfer targets. He will wait until the following weekend (to take advantage of the cheap rail fares) and buy a return ticket to London where he will look for cheap flights to the continent in the bargain flight shops there. Unfortunately Ashley will not agree to a flight and will tell him to get the ferry from Dover, but its cheaper if you book two weeks in advance, so he will wait in London for two weeks and then travel to Dover by bus. On arriving in Calais he can then start using his Eurorail travel pass and will spend the next 6 weeks travelling by train and stopping in various campsites throughout Europe (but obviously mainly focussing on France and Holland, as Mike has never approved expenditure to travel further) and visiting various clubs which happen to fall close to the railways. On his return he will present the results of his discussions to the Club Lawyers (Sue, Itt and Hope Ltd) who, when they have finished drafting the additional 2000 zero-hours contracts Mike needs to expand his real business, will draft up the contracts for the players identified. Carr will then repeat his trip back to the continent and after final approval we should be ready to move ahead. Unfortunately it will now be March 2016 so we will have to hold off on signing until July 1st. However we will prepare a press release saying that we have agreed to sign 6 players and this will be sent out at the same time as the letters inviting fans to renew their season tickets.
So please tell Brendan he is free to pick up Charley Austin for the usual 20-25million and we will look at him again at the end of the season after he has played 3 first team games for you and not scored and probably offer him a pay as you play deal.

The Mirror are reporting we are now looking elsewhere for a striker as QPR won't budge on their £15m asking price.
It's still VFM IMHO so yet again (if true) the club have spun us a pack of ****e about ambition to get Sat renewals.
Just watch him sign for Bournemouth and us look up to them for the whole of the season.
At least a lot of ST holders are hanging on to wait and see though.

I cannot understand what the problem is.
Charlie is English and a proven Premiership striker.
£15M is peanuts when you look at the price of other strikers.
If you want an unproven Troy Deeney then buy him because you won't be getting Charlie for less than 15 big ones

Look mate, we just want somebody, anybody, doesn't really matter. A sign that lessons have been learned and a new chapter begun.

Deeney would probably cost the same considering the amount of goals he's banged in for Watford.

Deja Vu anyone? This sounds oh so similar to previous seasons, flood the press with loads of transfer rumours to appease the gullible masses, waste a few weeks worth of headlines with the usual crap and then buy "one for the future", for peanuts". I`ve heard and seen it all before. Season ticket renewal fans, one piece of advice,, "DO NOT BLINK". Call Ashleys bluff!!!!

If Austin happens, it will not be soon! He spent the last two days at Royal Ascot and he tweeted a picture this morning of him and he mates going on a stag do, I doubt it will be in this country, then when he gets back his getting married. I would expect that any movement or deal for Austin will not happen or be confirmed for another 2 weeks minimum!

I can't see us budging on price. We sign people to get the best 'pound for pound' value. Nothing to do with ability. We miss out on Austin, we will have let a massive signing get away from us.

No we have enough of these French players. Although it would be good to get some experience in and apparently he has seen it all before.
I suspect a lot of the fans will blink before Ashley judging by his performance in the transfer market.

Austin lives near me in Berkshire. Most of his family and friends are from this area. I was said when he signed for QPR that his family are settled here and didn't want him to join a Northern club. TBH i think he won't be going to Newcastle. I reckon it will be between Saints/West Ham or even Bournemouth.

LOL when has this club under Mike Ashley spent 15 mio on anyone?

Not gonna happen. Last year we didn't want to pay 8-9 mio for Remy. Remy - a proven international goalscorer who had always scored 14 or so goals for us.

Then we go out and spend 6 mio on Reviere.

TBH Remy didn't want to stay in Newcastle and said from day one he wanted to be in London. No disrespects to Newcastle but its not London. What Newcastle need is someone that is not French and would respect the badge. Surely you can find a local talent that could do a job?

Newcastle keep reeling off the same old excuse, 'Players prefer London' which is believable to a certain extent but then you look at Swansea and the theory kind of goes out the window.

Players will go where the money is. We basically put in insulting bids because we want 'pound for pound' value. We then use the excuse that 'we couldn't get them over the line.' Same old bollocks every year.

Over on the SAFC board, they're discussing how they're lumbered with so many players on high wages that they can't shift, in order to make room for upgrades.

Somewhere in between their transfer policy and NUFC's transfer policy, is a transfer policy that will work <ok>

Serve's em right though! Paying players like Wes Brown more that £20k a week should be a crime!
