I think he's exactly what that sort of team/club needs. Regardless of how many **** mercenaries there are, he just plays his normal game and runs his nuts off. He sets a great example if nothing else.

He'll go to West Ham as he will play every week especially now Cole has gone and Carroll always injured.

I believe Newcastle should sign Marta Viera Da Silver, better than what you have now

For the money I'd like us to look at Joel Campbell. £5m apparently.

We'd offer 2 million. His goal record at club level is shocking.

Yeah but is that because he gets stuck out wide? Could be a handy little player for us and for £5mil would be up Mikes street

Possibly. He would be up Ashley's street. Cheap fee and wages with a possibility of a sell on profit. I would take him because he's a good player. But, I would want us to buy a proven goalscorer as well.

Agreed - wouldn't want to pin all hopes on Campbell scoring 15-20 goals a season! Does look as though we will be missing out on Austin though ATM but the Dost move is sounding like its creeping ever closer to the "line".

On a side note do you think they use the ref's foam spray for the line, might explain why we can never find it....

I think Campbell's more of a big fish/small pond type. Always seems to excel when the pressure is off - I mean, Wenger's tried for about 3 years - but Arsenal is such a massive, massive club it's easy to see why he wouldn't make it. I'd be happy if he was one of the six, for sure, but he'll more likely attract foreign attention.

Austin, I don't know, he's good and I'd be happy enough but the way certain website go on it's like they'll burn their kit if he isn't signed. Dost looks similar to Huntelaar, or Pelle at So'ton, so will need service we currently don't have. Our best LM hasn't really shown anything (Cabella) and our best RM isn't really a creative force (Sissoko). Can Dost hold a ball up?

Ha, should have added that. Same with CB, our "best" CB is a LB. And if Dummett is CB, that makes Haidara our LB, so therefore our best LB isn't even a footballer.

Worrying times. And there was me hoping we were done buying left backs.

Even old "Arry" reckons he should sign for the Toon. Chelsea supposedly showing interest but he'd be a bench warmer virtually all season, however, Austin doesn't strike me as a money grabber.

Agree. Also doesn't come across as someone who gets tired playing more than one game a week.
