Some ****er must have a caravan.

My money’s on it being a Kopite, defo one of them.

My out-laws had one, in a caravan park near Blackpool. It never went anywhere, but it was definitely a caravan, and we had a few short breaks in it. Was okay, miles from anywhere though, as I discovered when I stormed off on foot looking for a pub, after a row with the missus.

Still won’t beat my 5.8L V8 Ford shed that I rented in Los Angeles. 9mpg and 0-60 in about a week.

a mate of mine has one of these

A 5 litre V8. He took me out in it and “booted it” on the A2, bloody thing took off and just when you thought that was it, it went again. I was so frightened I was giggling like a little girl!

It’s a jag mate, that’s all I know. I have no idea of what model it could be beyond it’s a 5 litre V8 and black like the picture!
He a bit car mad and likes the big engines. He also has a 60’s American two door thing (not sure of make and model) which again is about 5/6 litres and V8. His previous car was a Bentley continental which I believe was 6/7 litres. He’s the oil companies dream!!

Could be the XFR, not that quick considering it’s a supercharged V8. Hot Jags are usually at their best between 60 and 100, proper cruisers.

Probably has better fuel consumption than my old 4.2 litre XJ6. Used to cost me half a weeks wages just picking the kids up from school. Two 16 gallon tanks, took 20 minutes to fill her up. You could see the fuel guage moving down as the Rev counter went up.

Beautiful car, but totally impractical. Electrics were a nightmare, and the battery shelf used to fill up with water when it rained, then slosh onto my feet as I backed out in the morning.

I loved that old motor. Only thing I ever came across that drank more than I did.

By the way, I've put the Merc in for a full service, today. Which is why I'm off work.

It's developed a metallic rattling, which I've also asked them to look at. Hope it's not anything too serious/expensive.

At Merc or at a local garage ?? If the former I presume you're walking around a lot quicker today given the weight change to your wallet

There’s a place near me that is staffed by Merc-trained mechanics and they charge half what the main dealer charges. They even provide the same valeting as part of the service.
