Not giving a **** about anyone, as long they get their drugs and their booze and woe betide you ever refuse them a cigarette. What were the criminals guilty of?

Humbercare's Centre for Assessment and Emergency Accommodation is not a place anyone on here would be happy living opposite, it's described as a homeless hostel, but it's more of a medical facility for junkies.
The discussion wasn't about living opposite it.
Well now you knowYeah you're right, I don't know it. It was described as a hostel for the homeless and I questioned why it's such an issue to have that near an area where kids play? If it is used as a place to house people who pose a threat to society and / or juveniles then maybe it should've been described as such and therefore I wouldn't have questioned it.

Well if adults wouldn't be happy living opposite, I can't imagine people would be too happy about kids playing opposite either.
As I said, I live very nearby and so maybe I'm a little bit touchy on the subject. And if the original post had said 'whose idea was it to house people convicted of dangerous assault and supply of drugs opposite a playground where kids play?' then I wouldn't have questioned it.
But it didn't say that.
People seem to be reacting as if I have said something stupid and / or offensive here when I merely questioned the vilification of people who are unfortunate enough to not be able to house themselves for what could be a multitude of tragic reasons that would not pose a threat to playing children.
Not to be pedanticI wouldn't be happy living opposite any school playground, so **** knows where they're going to play.
If you can explain to me why someone who isn't able to house themselves shouldn't be near kids playing then that would be super.
Not to be pedantic, but it's not a school playground, it's a park.
So BCC wouldn't be happy living opposite a school playground but would be opposite a hostel. His experience of schoolkids must have been traumatic.
Depends why they aren't able to house themselves. If you would be happy to have a load of people sat around drinking cheap cider near your kids fine.
You do have to wonder why a lot of people (not all) are homeless. I'm 100% certain a friend would put me up. Don't they have friends or family? If not why not? There has to be a reason why nobody will do that for you.Depends why they aren't able to house themselves. Best make sure kids never go into a family friendly pub ever again.
Bit different though. A pub is a controlled, licensed venue with trained staff and management. A park is, well, a park.

And before anyone gives me **** for this, I'm not talking about immigrants.

He said 'If you would be happy to have a load of people sat around drinking cheap cider near your kids fine' and that applies to pubs.
