If Redknapp does become England manager, do you think he'll take Joe Jordan with him ?

The FA are stating they'll select the backroom staff - which is a reason to believe 'Arry won't go for it, as he wants to pick his own staff.

Agreed, but the captaincy is a footballing decision and he was entitled to at least be involved in the decision, even if they said, in the end, that he's got to go. Telling him after the event was wrong.

It depends - in the Italy side, traditionally it's the players who pick the captain. Of course, this was easier when they had Baresi, Maldini, Cannavaro in the squad, as that decision tended to make itself.

Spurs director Keith Mills has said that "Harry needs to make a decision whether he'd like the job or to stay at Tottenham". Whether Levy agrees to it or not, I think the ball is firmly in Redknapp's court as to whether he takes the job. Can you really see Levy standing in the way if Redknapp, the FA and seeming everyone else (spurs fans excepted) want him to become England manager.

I think Stuart Pearce will be put in temporary charge of the England squad for the friendly against Holland, and that Harry will be offered the England job with effect from the end of the season.

I still think that Harry will take the job, although it is interesting that he has started to make noises that it's not nailed-on he will take it. That has surprised me.

Then again, Harry seems to be the kind of bloke that needs to know he is loved and trusted, and he has already admitted that (a) he was emotional following the support he received from fans during the last game he attended, and (b) he was thankful for the trust and faith that Levy placed in him, notwithstanding the charges hanging over his head. Where, before, I was 100% certain that Harry would take the England job, if it was offered to him, now I am beginning to waver in that view, and I'm only 75% sure he'll take it.

Why is it not possible to get other clubs' moderators (sic) ignored and their comments made non visible? After all it's not as though they ever have anything of any value to say.

There is an ignore function, if it bothers you that much, maybe you should use it ? <ok>

Click on user profile and click 'add to ignore list'. Job done <ok>

With respect, this is a million miles from a WUM comment. I think it's stating the bleedin' obvious really.

Harry has never made any secret for his desire to manage England. The entire country want him to do it, there are 4 months until the finals, the FA will have to act quickly, The clamour for an English manager is unwavering and no other candidate is remotely as close to Redknapp for the job. Even your ex players are coming out and saying that Harry should take the job.

Can you imagine a scenario where Harry doesn't take the job ?

<laugh> Even the FA chairman is saying he wants an Englishman, who is popular with the fans, players and the media.

Personally, whilst I think Redknapp is odds on for the job, I'm undecided who I think would make the best successor. Not everyone thinks that Harry would do a good job. http://www.football365.com/john-nicholson/7498696/John-Nich

Might I draw your attention to the 2 phrases highlighted in red where the moderator (sic) from a lesser club contradicts himself. <doh>

Or Spain where it's done by most caps I think or oldest player

I thought you were ignoring me ? <laugh>

Anyway, the fact that everyone seemingly wants him to do it is not the same as everyone thinking that he'd do a good job, so your accusation of contradiction is incorrect, but there you go, I guess you're clutching at straws so this would be congruent with your thinking.

Oh well ...

Football Supporters' Federation chairman Malcolm Clarke has told BBC Sport that the Football Association should take their time before appointing Fabio Capello's successor:

"Redknapp appears to be the media choice but whether he's the choice of the people who sit down and look at exactly what's required remains to be seen.

Ignoring me and responding to me .... now there's a contradiction <laugh>

Who's moderating the Arsenal board while you wind up the gullible PISKIE? or have you banned everyone and created a Maoist state.

<laugh> I think Ensil's winding himself up, nothing new there. The only person banned from our board is HIAG <laugh>

Anyway, back on topic. The FA have said that there are meeting tomorrow to discuss a successor. Who else do you think will realistically be in the hat, if anyone at all ? Both Alan Pardew and Martin O'Neil have ruled themselves out.

Now I realise that you are slow but where in ...

... does it say I was looking to ignore you? You're not the only sad and Spurs obsessed moderator with nothing of value to bring to a thread, there are others you know. I think that you have a far too high opinion of yourself.
