midfield is our weakness. Need an Ash type figure but one that can play. Mckenna getting on a bit, Oli never produces, Evans lightweight, Cairney not mobile enough.
roll them all into one and we would have a decent player.
Also need a wide player, would have josh king over stewart.

oli was awesome tonight

Watched bits of the Wigan Forest game on TV. Ben Watson played really well for Wigan - he'd be a great signing for a Championship club, if he was available?

Whatever anyone's thoughts on his ability, it's sad that the lad puts in a good performance and having staked a claim, will now be out for several months.

Get well soon Tom.

did you go?

The polite description for Oli's performance last night is "anonymous".

I feel very sorry for Cairney. He had a start and a chance to impress & was taking it before being the victim of a reckless challenge. This changed the complexion of the game.

I hope that the examination of the injury reveas it to be not as bad as the worst case being put forward and he's back in a City shirt again soon.

rarley see him pass more tan 10 yards so it would hard to scuff it or mess it up especially when its sideways, doesnt score a great deal so his shooting carnt be that good. How would you compare him to someone like Stuart Green when he was here?? In my opinion Green was head and shoulders better
I agree, Green was a good footballer but with a bad attitude. Where is he now? I know he went to Derby. Didn't he go back to Carlisle?

Oli never produces

He's never been given a chance, 22 games in 3 years says it all.

Last season he got thrown in after been ignored for months, he wasn't match fit so didn't play to his ability, that resulted in him getting dropped and ignored again until we got a new manager.

He was one of Cardiff's best players in a successful season for them, he also scored as many goals in that season as Mclean did last season, says it all!

He's exactly what we need, he just needs to be given a run, something which might actually happen now.

i wonder if there has always been an inherited 'pay-for-play' contractual issue with oli such as was prevalent with Bullard which has restricted his appearences. he seems to have been 'injured' quite a lot

Olofinjana has some good passing ability, but he doesn't ever seem like he wants to bust a gut for us, but he did at Cardiff - maybe it was Dave Jones getting it out of him, or the hope of earning a permanent transfer?

I'm sure that's the case either that or 3 managers have all taken a dislike to him!

oli was awesome tonight

I went Mussie and have to agree, he was quality last night, his first touch was sublime, never made one bad pass and got stuck in!

As for those who never went and are basing their comments on Swannies summary, FFS don't you know any better???

Let's hope Oli can teach some of the others how to trap a ball, that would be a great improvement.

oli was awesome tonight

I was there and i agree with you, Oli played well considering he has had very little game time. As for Tom Cairney, how the heck that player who tackled Tom didnt get a booking let alone thrown out the game is a supprise! 2 footed and studs showing!

Fingers crossed that it isnt as bad as 1st thought, but the way he reacted last night, i fear the worse!
