Varying reports that he's out for between 3 and 9 months.
    Bad knee injury.
Need to be pro active in the last few days of the transfer window.

Bruce just said he's out for between 3-6 months. Bruce is furious about the 2 footed tackle

might get some decent midfielders in now then hopefully, neither Cairney or Mckenna are top championship players

Bit of added motivation to get in to the transfer market then. Great shame about Cairney if it is a long injury though, I think this season is make or break for him here.

Goodbye Tom Cairney then, guess that's him finished now. Such a crying shame, there's not many I've seen play for us with such natural footballing ability... Oh well

Cairney has good technical ability, but can't run, can't use his right foot and bottles challenges, hence the reason why he come worse off tonight.
If you don't go full blooded into a tackle you get hurt!!!!

His ball control and technique is exceptional, you can't deny that, you rarely see him mis control a ball or scuff a shot or a pass. Very precise aim and great swerve too.

Whilst he wil probably always be one footed (not such a bad thing, many footballers are one footed including some top players at top clubs) pace will never need to be a part of his game as a creative central player, Lampard, Gerrard, Xavi, Xavi Alonso to name but a few can hardly run like Usain Bolt. Sideways passing is down to his mentality and the players around him not offering much in front. Given a decent run of games for once in the right system I am sure he would soon learn to be a bit more adventurous, it's something which can be worked on and fixed with relative ease given a proper chance.

By footballing ability, I meant purely his skill, control and ability to kick a ball well.

rarley see him pass more tan 10 yards so it would hard to scuff it or mess it up especially when its sideways, doesnt score a great deal so his shooting carnt be that good. How would you compare him to someone like Stuart Green when he was here?? In my opinion Green was head and shoulders better

CORRY Evans ****ing manages it. Cairney is twice the player hell ever be, hes like McLean without the moments of quality.

On a footballing level I feel for the lad, but by all accounts he's an arrogant **** off-field, so...

midfield is our weakness. Need an Ash type figure but one that can play. Mckenna getting on a bit, Oli never produces, Evans lightweight, Cairney not mobile enough.
roll them all into one and we would have a decent player.
Also need a wide player, would have josh king over stewart.
