Well I heard the final interviews in my car with my wife and we both said Lucy was the voice of Hull, we both knew she wouldn’t get it, our opinion I know.
But he definitely was not the best candidate out of the three.
Lucy is my youngest daughter and she came runner up in the 'Face of Hull' competition behind Kofi. Both were offered jobs at the BBC and my daughter was given two shows of her own on Radio Humberside straight away. Kofi joined the television crew. The competition was after all, the face of Hull, not the voice of Hull.
RH will miss Dave Burns massively. His mid morning show was very popular and the best they had, in my opinion. But the writing was on the wall when the last hour of his phone-in show was given over to basically a golden oldies section. I'm not a fan of his City commentaries mainly because I am usually at the games myself, but they were a godsend when I couldn't get to a game and before the club started streaming away games. I do know many still depend and look forward to them. They were missed greatly when he was banned. I have no reason to tune in to RH when he leaves and BBC Radio Humberside will not be the same without him.

Kofi Smiles, ****e.
Burnsey, decent.
Fiona Mills, quite funny in patches.
Andy Comfort, average.
Lloyd, awful ****.

Rose
The views expressed in this post are my personal opinion.
Decent summary (maybe a bit too kind to Lloyd though).
Andy Comfort and Lizzie Rose were good together on the early morning show.

it kind of annoyed me that he thought our version of 'fools rush in' was by elvis, but i'm over that, and apart from that he was okay. he even joined the nick lowe fan club, even if he was 40+ years behind.

i'm still hoping rh - or, at least, the wider local beeb area - will bring back henry ayrton. alas, i fear there'll be no new henry's jukebox. at least i have some shows still to listen to.

I liked James Piekos on the breakfast show and Kofi’s a major downgrade on him.

Burnsy’s show is by far the best thing on there, though I think Fiona Mills is pretty good, as is James Hogarth.

The worst of the lot is that squawky girl from Grimsby, who presents her show as if she’s just talking to her mate on the back of a bus.

I have RH on all day every day in my office, but I’m going to hunt out something else now.
Try Boom

I don’t know why some people can’t just criticise a person’s abilities without suggesting that the only reason they got the job in the first place was because they’re a minority and need to fill diversity quotas.

Do people ever mention Lee Dixon’s or Danny Murphy’s skin colour or gender when they criticise their ****e commentary and punditry? Seems to be only BAME people have their skin colour mentioned when people question their competency at a job.

It shows how much attention I pay, I never noticed that Burnsy, Swanny and Gollym were black. :emoticon-0104-surpr
