Prob burnsy upset wasnt invited to portugal training camp like he usualy does met him before found him quite an ignorant twat

No idea what you mean by that, they've got plenty of good players that could trouble us.
With your mate Huddlestone bossing the midfield we should have no trouble, Huddersfield are crap on paper compared to us, I had a look myself. We have enough class players still to destroy teams like them and we should be looking to do exactly that.

I've put a tenner on us being in the bottom three on the first of September. 20/1 with sky bet. Our build up compared to others has been woeful. Other championship teams have players signed and competitive matches being played already so they gel.
Good luck, I'm not sure about the 'gelling' part having any impact on us though given all the players know each other already, the fitness aspect is probably going to give us an edge over meaningless friendlies

Why? He's pulled the team together. They're back now. They'll be training tomorrow and will talk to Buckingham then. Burnsy will be there fawning again.

Do they do this to the FC and Rovers coaches who are doing ****? No do they ****.

Because it's the done thing to have media at pre-season. They're absolutely no trouble and it's only because 'the club' think everyone's against them re the off-pitch issues.

I don't believe for a second that Burnsy or other local journalists invent opinions just to have a pop at the club. I also don't believe the club will give a **** about tonight's show. If he was knocking our leader then they'd care.

How the **** do you know ? Exactly, you don't. <doh>

I do know, but since when do you swear?

I still think we have a more than capable squad! I'd like to play Brady in a more central role! Which would allow us to have robbo as a starter as well. Everyone knows pace is the weapon of choice if you want to do well in the championship and we've got loads of it. Have some faith lads.

Do we? We've got Robertson that's about it for pace isn't it? Last season's was an exceptionally slow team, and we haven't added anyone to it.

He's really not.

He's massively pro City and pro-Hull despite not being from round here. Unlike Swanny, who you could reasonably call ignorant, he always knows what he's talking about.

There's a weird wave of hyper-Ticklerism on here where no one's allowed to be negative. Can't believe the abuse a presenter is getting for giving his opinion which is an entirely reasonable one. If he was making up rumours or something then fair enough lay into him. He's just saying we don't look very good. He might be wrong, but you can see why he thinks it.

That's exactly the attitude a lot of supporters had last season, it's totally disrespectful to assume these teams are weak and their players are naff.

Even worse, the team (and to an extent the management) also took on this attitude that we were better than Leiester, Burnley, WBA, Stoke et al and look where we ended up. It's arrogance. Of course we expect to win against most of these teams, but you have to look at it pragmatically and do a bit of research. Their strikers did ok last season, we know Wells and Vaughn are both very good Championship strikers and they have a young midfielder, Phillip Billing, who's been scouted by some top clubs from across Europe. Adam Hammill and Jacob Butterfield (both players we've targetted in the past) are always a pain in the arse an arl.

'No ones allowed to be negative?!' You've got to be kidding me, all you see on here is doom and gloom, 3-5-2 formations, Alex Bruce, manager out, Allam out etc.etc.. it's laughable how negative some of the posters are. I'm tempted to have a bet on us to be on bottom three too now with all the Jonahs we have as fans pulling us down like a lead balloon!

Adam Hammill is a classic case in point, a player who hasn't trained on and is mediocre compared to some of ours. I'd sooner be arrogant than come out with a load of negative guff about 3-5-2 formations and so on mate, also do you not see the irony of you praising their players and slating Alex Bruce at the same time

Off -topic but still about Adam Hamill, I noticed he got done for assaulting two female paramedics, thank god we never did sign him

Burnsy has profited from being Allams mouthpiece for ****ing years. He is an eel. A snake. He is now a rat trying to jump off a sinking ship. He is at least partially responsible for our position If we actually had a fair media it wouldl never have been as bad as this. Burnsy **** off back to the East riding. ****er, you were alright before you started wearing you facy suits thinking you were John Peel or whatever. Forget it mate.

Ha! Remember the last time we were in the Championship when Peterborough pulled our pants down at the KC and made us look like a bunch of rank amateurs? Remember our defeat to Burnley not so long ago which contributed to our relegation?

Underestimate no one.

Just had a look at the Huddersfield match odds, they are 4/1 to win, says it all. I know with it being first game of season we will no doubt lose regardless but all things being equal it doesn't matter how much you talk their players up, we are better than them. It's too easy to be constantly negative and harder to pick out plus-points, that's why the best posters on this site flag up more helpful stuff than moany whinging type comments

We are going down mate , have been convinced by all the doom-mongers on here, just checking the odds now

I never slated Alex Bruce, I simply said that I didn't think he was a Premier League quality defender. As I've said countless times, he isn't a bad player by any means, he's just average. In the Championship, it's a different matter, I think he's more than capable at that level, as is Meyler.

The opinion on formation is just that, it's my opinion; I watched all our games and call it being a footballing anorack, but I analyse everything about a game and one of the things I saw crop up most was that our formation was a real hindrance. It made us one dimensional, very predictable and was often counter intuitive to how most of our players like to play. Most of the goals we conceded came from wide areas; because somebody got in behind the WB, it meant a CB had to come across, meaning we only had 2 in the middle. Most teams strikers (not ours) ran through the middle and scored. It wasn't rocket science, but the most frustrating thing about it was that we didn't adapt our team to face our opposition and it was a large contributing factor to our demise.

In my opinion football isn't just about supporting your own club, it's about knowing the strengths and weaknesses of other teams, so that when you sit down to watch a match, you get a better understanding of why something does or doesn't work. It's not the way everybody watches it and I'm certainly not saying they should, I'm just trying to give you an insight into why teams shouldn't be written off under the assumption that they aren't very good when really they aren't that bad. Some fans are going to get a sharp shock this season if they think we're going to piss this league, ask the Leicester fans why it took them so long to get back out the Championship. In fact, think back to the last time we were in this league, remeber Bolton away off the back of 3 straight home wins, remember needing a win to go up and losing to Wolves and Barnsley. You might see arrogance as a preference to reality, but I see it as a road to disappointent.
