I'm a big fan of Brucey but it was pretty indefensible today. A switch to 3-5-2 may have been worth a try. But if you arent working the oppo's goalie there's summat wrong and we didnt until the last 15 minutes.

In mitigation Robbo did say they forced us back and worked hard against us stopping him and Dave getting forward.

Our only attacking threat comes from the wings. Stop that and you stop us scoring. It was obvious last year and nothings changed. Hayden may be the answer but its a lot of responsibility for a young loanee. Diame may also be the answer, but how long will he be with us.

Bruce's idea today and at Wolves was to sacrifice that wide threat in favour of, well I'm not sure what. I just can't understand why you'd tell Elmo to stop doing the job he's done excellently for three years and to instead go in the middle. Odubajo clearly isn't as good running down the line as he is.

A lot of managers end up getting into trouble thinking too much. I do hope City aren't going to have another season of chopping and changing, not so much the team but rather the formation. It smacks of worrying about the opposition too much when (so long as we don't lose more players) we should just be thinking each game that we can piss this lot.

Mr Hat is just a devils advocate, I prefer Chazzes Hundredstone thread it deals with the root of a problem, we are stuck with Bruce whether we love him or not, personally I think he is a decent fella let down by players last season, and to a lesser extent this season. You could argue he picked them so made a rod for his own back but we won't get a better manager at this level, Sam Allardyce is a Bruce in sheeps clothing

Bruce picks the team and the squad, he also decides when to make the substitions, decides tactics. Just because we are stuck with him is hardly a reason to say he isn't at fault. And I'm not sure it can be proven he is better than all other managers below the top tier. He's had enough money to spend and this is what we have.

Sorry but did you watch the game today? How is it always one player's fault. Today we just made the same passes time and time again and got no one ahead of the ball. Bruce sets them up and today the plan was just to not concede, which isn't good enough with this squad.

with the players we have we should not of been relegated and Bruce must be at fault for that. Im yet to judge him entirely, but I'd struggle to find a manager in the premier league this season and last who could of got that team relegated, it has to be down to poor management.but I will reserve my judgement until december. if he keeps McGregor Huddlestone and Jela as the spine of the team, I will question his judgement on why he feels they should warrant a place above any body else. sometimes if some cogs aint working, you need to replace them.

because we are away he goes for the draw. he did it all last season, I'm not sure wheather its Brucie or Phelan but its an absolutely tragic plan and has caught us out too often. The plans not working, change it!

Our away record is shocking and it for the reasons above

Phil Buckingham describes the winning goal as an appalling piece of defending .
Boring 'possession football' with no 'end-product' whatsoever, designed by genius' and performed by so-called football players without a clue.
I didn't see a gram of passion from anyone today.

I agree except for Hernandez, He showed passion, but for the wrong reasons for us City fans. He wants out.

This thread made me laugh. Always someone stood in the wings desperately waiting to jump in at the first loss.

In a 4 game unbeaten run.

Based on the amount of players that have left and the amount that have signed and the time it takes for a team to gel id say he was doing a brilliant job. Especially with the ridiculous uncertain transfer situation which is hanging over the club.

We were okay against a poor Huddersfield side, we were good in the first half against Fulham, but poor in the second, we were **** against Wolves and appalling against Charlton.

It's a ****ng miracle that we're anywhere near the top of the league and we're going to have to improve tenfold to have any chance of promotion.

I don't know about you OLM but I believe this team is a 'lay down misere'.
There is no passion and little or no skills. Some of our players are on double-figure thousands per week and, having come down from the EPL, should be waltzing by defenders at this level.
I believe it is a question of motivation and whereas I have been a great admirer and supporter of Steve Bruce and his panel I do not believe they are capable of doing it.
Our blokes need to come out and play like their @rses are on fire.
Maybe it is time to change Management because we have played this way since half way through last season (probably because of our injury list) but there is no excuse to play like this now.

We've played like this since he came, although we did have Robert Koren who posed a threat through the middle.

It was, centre halves about 30 yards apart with no one in the middle. Dawson easily beaten in the air and whatever the **** Curtis Davies was doing in attempting to prevent their player getting a comfortable attempt on goal, God only knows. It was absolutely ****ing dreadful.

Curtis was atrocious all game though to be fair, he's a bag of ****. Should get Maguire in far better.
I was with you all the way until you mentioned Maguire, he's absolutely ****!

I do think its getting to the point now, where I ham losing trust in Bruce. he seems to be making all the same mistakes and picking some wrong individuals. Although he has started to play Aluko on the left (finally) he still plays the likes of Jela, Huddlestone and Mcgregor. He makes subs far too late, why he brought Huddlestone of in the 70th min is laughable, I'd of yanked him off at half time and thought this isnt working and Hernandez should of been on alot quicker too.

I do think there is a good manager in there somewhere, as he did get us promoted and we were quite comfortable in our first PL season but he has to see that it isnt working and change it.

I've said all along I'm not going this season so I'm not sure why you would bring that up really
