Anyone ever thought Steve Bruce might be keeping a lid on it, putting on a brave face, and those greedy selfish ****ing footballers might be trying to angle a way out all the while pretending they care. People like Dawson are now been mentioned Davies too.

Its a ****ing nightmare for him, what if he drops them and they dont go? Its easy to say motivate them but how do you motivate a millionaire who has just had his wages cut 50% and knows a club might come in for him who will restore his salary?
A bit of support wouldnt go amiss. Instead we have the Talksport types, clueless tactically inept etc etc.

If he didn't keep going on about it no one would think anything of this transfer stuff. No one seems to be close to a move away. In fact, the club itself seems more keen on moving them on than they do. Having the window open after the season starts is daft but it's the same situation at every club.

It's just daft to suggest the only reason we play this boring football with such little creativity is the transfer window. The transfer window doesn't explain why Elmo has been told to stop doing what he does best and start drifting inside instead. It doesn't explain why we finally use Aluko on the wing but have him cutting inside onto his weaker foot ffs. It doesn't explain why of the 5 players he brought in, and who definitely aren't looking for moves, 3 aren't good enough to start and the other two were ****e on Saturday.

But yeah the transfer window. Or McGregor. Or the defence. Or just 'the worst game of football I've seen in a long time'. It's never the instructions though.

what a load of tripe Mr hat is spouting. Brucie knows more about football than you ever will. We were awful today admitted we will get better when window is shut and he knows what he has to play with.

Spot on ^^^^^ this.

Hattie always does. Don't worry about it. Typical of the modern day fan is the mad-hatter.

Too many reasons to go into but obviously theres a come down after relegation but we are still above the other two relegated sides. Its going to take a while to get going again. The window closing will be a big help.
Derby were doing everything right preseason, not going to plan there. Boro got beat by the bottom club. Lets see after 10 games where we are.

Great post Chazz. I can understand why some people are frustrated with things at the moment. I said last week after Fulham that it was irritating to see us lose a commanding position in a game by not keeping the tempo up. However, no team at the moment looks to be storming away with all the pre season favourites making steady but unspectacular starts. Even in the top flight, Man City are the only ones firing on all cylinders. The Championship is a difficult league and even with the players we have, only a fool would think we can thrash teams every week. The team and manager can do their own things to improve though and by the end of September we'll know more about what to expect. Carry on like Saturday though and serious questions are quite right to be asked.

Interesting what Arsene says on SSN's transfer section!

(Arsene Wenger has ruled out signing a defensive midfielder before the transfer window shuts, saying he is happy with his options.

Arsenal have been criticised fans for not buying another holding midfielder to support Francis Coquelin, with Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini the only competition.

When asked about the need for more 'powerful' midfielders by reporters, Wenger replied: "Everybody has their opinion and everybody is entitled to have an opinion. I could prove to you that it's not necessarily right.

"When you don't win, you're wrong and people always find reasons why. Are they the good reasons?

"I think I have enough experience and intelligence to know when it's right and when it's wrong.
”)

Get a grip, folks. We have 7 points out of 12 and are in the 3rd round of the COC. Performances have been less than convincing but its results that count. Club is surrounded by uncertainty and will be until transfer window closes - that is in terms of who will be here at least until January. Maybe after next week we can get a settled side and more consistent performances. Bruce in.

I can understand people's frustrations at the manner in which we play, but aisde from Saturday, we have got results, whether they are ugly wins or not. I imagine if we had gone all out attack and lost all our games we'd be seeing the same sort of comments we have seen over the last few days regarding Bruce. I do think we need to find a balance between being more adventurous and cautious but as no team in this league is pulling up any trees at the moment things are just settling down for everyone.

Just not up to it, shocking.

So so so very true. We only won 6-0 and it should have been 10 at least. <laugh>

Poor team selection - tactics - substitutions - tea and coffee with the final straw being Ryan Taylor on for Robbo.

2nd in the championship. 2 points behind Middlesboro and 4 points in front of Derby.

INDEED BRUCE OUT.!!!!!!! <whistle><whistle><whistle>

+++++++++++++++++

Time maybe Mr Hat for you to venture onto the Middlesboro and Derby boards and start "KARANKA and CLEMENT OUT" threads respectively now ? <laugh><whistle>

Clement in particular we want to stay. Derby are a lot like us, played totally ****e for the majority of the season but superior players to most other teams making the difference to put points in the bag. Clement, like bruce, enjoys tinkering and forcing square pegs into round holes to make players fit into a system rather than finding a system that suits the players. Needless to say he hasn't got them close to top gear yet.

Karanka actually seems a decent manager with a well thought out approach to the game. He can **** off ASAP.
