If only! As I said pre season we always used to run through the scores as part of our Friday night pub ritual. I e-mail her the list, she returns it, I post it. She doesn't do social media full stop: shopping, candy crush, logic games, news and sport. She hasn't got that much knowledge about tactics and often shouts "donkey" at a player on the telly when it's really not justified... but she has played league hockey at a national standard so she probably "gets" what is required more than I do! It's all her own work!!
I forgot to add that her late Nan was an accountant at Arsenal for many years, had a late uncle who played for Leyton Orient, used to take herself off to watch Arsenal during the 80's and was an Arsenal STH for a couple of seasons. It gets "interesting" in our house when our teams play each other, we'd often go to the fixture together, particularly at the Emirates. We also had Saracens season tix as well. Not to mention her golf, rowing and sailing exploits... quite the sports woman!
Brian's Predictions League 2020/21 League Table Matej appears to have well and truly brought last years form over into the current league and has now opened a gap of nearly a hundred at the top - can Andy do us a favour and hide his crystal ball ? Elsewhere Fez got the highest score of the round with 107 - largely based in the Steptoes equalizer against the Horns ! As can be observed the bonus points for unique scores are less this season (10 as opposed to the 20 of last season - doubled in the case of Watford or 'joker' matches) - this means that the absolute maximum score possible on one match is 70, as opposed to the 90 of last season. The reason is that the fewer numbers we have in our league makes unique scores easier to get. Unusually there were 5 home wins from our featured matches so it appears that home advantage may be reasserting itself now that teams have got used to only hearing themselves during matches. Brian's Predictions League 2020/21 League Table Lots of us are still slipping around on banana skins at the moment with scores over 60 becoming a rarity. None of us got the Hornets scoreline right. Matej still leads having gained a respectable 50 points this week, though Hackney managed to close the gap slightly. Highest score of the round was by Paul who achieved a rarity this season by getting maximum on the joker. Theghost got the second highest and Yorkie came up with a creditable 81. Apart from the gap between first and second, everything else is very close and one late goal can have a decisive effect on the placings. I think many of us had forgotten that the Championship was so unpredictable. Thanks cologne for your hard work.
Brian's Predictions League 2020/21 League Table As a very sporting gesture our leader Matej slipped on a banana skin this week. There were also rumbles amongst the chasers with Hackney closing the gap with a score of 75 and Mrs Fez scoring the highest of the round with 109 to come up into joint second. Fez must grin and put up with this locked on fifth. The ex Ricky Grammar section is placed 4th and 6th (NZ and myself - just in case anyone was wondering) - which just goes to prove that our education was not in vain. Second highest scorer of the day was Chris with 88. All of the excitement was on here with the entertainment levels at the Vic being conspicuously absent. Brian's Predictions League 2020/21 League Table With the Hornets winning there were a few more higher scores on here, but still nobody topping the hundred mark. Highest of the day was Seb with 98 followed by Charlie with 96 and Mrs Andy with 91. No changes at the top with Matej still scoring consistently and Hackney looking strong in second. Mrs Fez dropped a little to allow Mr Fez to close the gap a little, Charlie has moved up to 5th. All the places are very close around the middle of the table where only 50 points separates 8th from 15th place.
