Despite the Hornets winning it was a low scoring round for us this week. Highest of the round was Yorkie with 104. Matej did well and has moved up to second with a score of 93. Chris and theghost also managed over 90. Elsewhere it was mostly low scoring. Fez is now losing his family battle ! Although the Horns are being involved in some very low scoring matches (maximum one goal) it appears that fruitless waiting for goals is becoming normal in the championship, with few of them around. A glance at the statistics shows that the average 'goals per match' so far in the Championship is 2.02 - this compares to 3.78 in the Premiership (they're going mad up there), 2.55 in Division 1, 2.42 in Division 2 and 2.76 in the Nationwide league. So Championship fans are being the most starved of goals at the moment. Also interesting is that home advantage appears to have disappeared with 32% of Championship matches going that way, compared to 27% draws and 41% away wins. This is making predicting very difficult at the moment.​

As always some of us profited from last minute goals and for others everything was lost <doh> Still quite moderate scoring with only one of us getting over the hundred mark - congratulations to Mrs Andy <applause>. Elsewhere Frenchie and Matej also did well and it appears that 4 front runners have appeared with NZ also looking good in third. I managed the joint lowest score this week (thanks Yorkie !) and am placed just above our lady guests who are both winning their respective family battles !​

This week I put a bit more reasoned effort into this as there was a bit of history to go on, I'll go back to guessing I think.
Remarkably mine was not the lowest score! The only way now is up perhaps...

A day to forget for the Hornets and one of mediocrity for us on here ! Scores of over 50 were a rarity today, with most of us not scoring anything on our jokers and, between us, we only got 4 of the results right. Nonetheless Mrs Fez made hay at the expense of the Hornets and moves into third place with a score of 111 - no real point in talking about the other scores <doh> Matej moves into first place as a result of Hackney slipping on a banana skin.​

Now there's an idea.
Once we make our predictions we then guess how many points we will score.
Say you get 10 points for guessing your correct score and -1 for each point you are different from it up to a max deduction of 10.
So if I predict to score 30 points and get 35 I get a bonus of 10-5 = 5.:emoticon-0125-mmm:

Again a very low scoring round for us on here, the dramatic scores of last season have all but disappeared. Highest score was by our leader Matej, who has continued from where he left off last season, with 96. Brian (Simon) got the second highest with 89. The surprise package appears to be Mrs Fez who has moved into second - well clear of her other half ! There now follows another pointless international break and then we get back to tipping on this league where you can't rely on the maxim 'when in doubt tip the home win' any longer. ​
