As you can see, my fortunes are identically matched with WFC's ! Therefore, it should be arranged or me to win a few rounds. Sadly, my eternal optimism means that currently I am guaranteed to lose points by always picking WFC to win. I just need to get one right and we are on a roll.

Thanks Cologne and thanks for not embarrassing me by pointing out that my high score was mainly due to predicting the Watford score correctly.

Once again no changes in the top placings though Matej has closed the gap a bit on the top two. The highest score of the round was by Andy with 144 - this was due to a unique score and joker on the Newcastle match. At last the Horns have a 3 pointer and with Burnley and Southampton coming up things could be looking a bit brighter soon. We now have a break because of the international weekend next week.

All change at the top again as Matej moves back into poll position at the expense of Frenchie and Scully. The following 3 places (4-6) also change as a result of a slump by our BBC expert - though he still has Villa v Newcastle in hand. Highest scores of the round were by Bodbo with 115 and NZHorn with 95. Elsewhere, very moderate scoring by most of us. Andy is continuing his run but still has a bit to go to overhaul Seb and Matej.

Good to see Matej’s method of studying form, home and away, current injury statuses, club trajectory etc., is paying off. Last year Seb and I were ahead of him using our last minute guess technique!

A very difficult weeks tipping for us with Chelsea and Man. City dropping points and Liverpool and Leicester both winning by their skin of their collective teeth. Many of us were scratching around for points and it was open for someone to make hay - unfortunately it was our guest from the BBC who did this. We tend to tip optimistically on the Hornets and so the chance is there that someone can tip on a hornets defeat and get the unique score bonus as a result - although the scoreline of 2-1 for this fixture was hardly outside the normal range of possible results, Lawro was the only one to actually get it. This may be the fault of the scoring system that so many points are possible from the one match (90 in this case) - you need 4 perfect scores elsewhere to actually better this, but I cannot change the scoring system in midstream. Needless to say Lawro is being used as the hare in this and cannot actually win the WPL - the winner will be the highest normal poster. Second highest scorer was Paul, our guest Gunner, courtesy of a joker in the Norwich v Arsenal match. For the rest of us it was very much of a non event - Chris being the highest scoring Hornet, but moving down a place as a result !League Table

Thanks as usual Cologne for doing the table. I enjoy Sunday evenings studying how bad my predictions had been this weekend. Spending the first 4 or 5 weeks at the bottom supporting the rest of the predictors I’m pleased to reach the dizzy heights of 13th and have now treaded water for 3 weeks, here’s to us valiant predictors looking for mediocrity.
Excuse me, but I think I am a hornet, and I think that 73 is greater than 66. Of course you may be relying on VAR to derive the scores.
You are indeed a Hornet Bodbo - sorry, I'm so concentrated on getting the scores right and doing up the table, that sometimes the text is an afterthought.I am truly grateful to you for the work you do. I am not prickly, (I hope) but so infrequently do I do well that I like to make the most of the occasions - handicapped as I am by always thinking the hornets will win ! Anyway, I think we are simply biding our time before storming up the table.
